3. Setup and Installation

The Generico Shark Fin Antenna is designed for easy, drill-free installation using double-sided adhesive tape. Follow these steps for optimal results:

1. Prepare the Surface: Thoroughly clean and dry the area on your vehicle's roof where the antenna will be installed. Ensure it is free of dust, dirt, wax, or grease.
2. Remove Original Antenna (if applicable): If your vehicle has a traditional screw-in antenna, carefully unscrew and remove it.
3. Connect Signal Cable: Connect the copper screw signal cable from the shark fin antenna to the existing antenna base on your car. Ensure a firm and secure connection for optimal signal reception.
4. Apply Adhesive: Peel off the protective backing from the double-sided adhesive tape on the underside of the shark fin antenna.
5. Position and Press: Carefully align the shark fin antenna over the antenna base and press it firmly onto the cleaned roof surface. Apply even pressure for several seconds to ensure strong adhesion.
6. Cure Time: Allow the adhesive to cure for at least 24 hours before washing the car or exposing it to harsh weather conditions.

4. Operating Instructions

Once installed, the Generico Shark Fin Antenna operates automatically to receive radio signals and other integrated functions (e.g., GPS, vehicle network connectivity, if applicable to your specific model and vehicle system). No manual operation is required for signal reception.

• Signal Reception: The antenna is designed to provide stable and improved signal reception for your car's radio.
• Aerodynamic Benefits: During driving, the antenna's design helps reduce wind noise and drag, contributing to a smoother ride.

5. Maintenance

To ensure the longevity and optimal appearance of your shark fin antenna, follow these simple maintenance guidelines:

• Cleaning: Clean the antenna regularly with mild car soap and water. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that could damage the finish.
• Drying: Dry the antenna with a soft cloth after washing to prevent water spots.
• Inspection: Periodically inspect the antenna for any signs of damage or loosening. While designed for durability, extreme impacts should be avoided.

6. Troubleshooting

If you experience issues with your Generico Shark Fin Antenna, consider the following:

• Poor Signal Reception:
  • Ensure the copper screw signal cable is securely connected to the car's antenna base.
  • Verify that the antenna is correctly positioned and fully adhered to the roof surface.
  • Check if the issue is localized to specific areas (e.g., poor signal zones) or persistent.
• Antenna Loosening:
  • Ensure the installation surface was thoroughly cleaned and dried before application.
  • Re-apply pressure to the antenna to re-secure it. If necessary, consider using new automotive-grade double-sided adhesive tape.
• Physical Damage:
  • While durable, severe impacts can cause damage. Inspect for cracks or breaks.
  • Contact customer support if the antenna is damaged and requires replacement.
