8. Troubleshooting
- Disk Not Recognized: New SSDs or SSDs previously used in other devices may require initialization (formatting) in Windows or Mac OS Disk Utility before they appear. Refer to the 'Operating Instructions: Disk Formatting' section.
- Slow Transfer Speeds with Thunderbolt 3: When using a Thunderbolt 3 port, performance may be limited to a maximum of 10Gbps in USB mode, as Thunderbolt 3 systems may not be fully compatible with Thunderbolt 5. For optimal speeds with Thunderbolt 3, consider a Thunderbolt 3/4 specific enclosure.
- Multiple External Drives Not Recognized: If connecting multiple external SSDs, ensure your host device provides sufficient bus power. For initial recognition, try connecting only the ORICO X50 enclosure first, then connect other devices.
- Overheating: While the enclosure has advanced cooling, if you experience excessive heat, ensure the thermal pad is correctly applied and making good contact. A slightly thicker (e.g., 1.5mm) thermal pad might improve contact with the back cover for better heat dissipation.
- Sub-optimal Speed: The included cable is designed for high speed, but for maximum performance, especially with Thunderbolt 5, using a certified Thunderbolt 5 cable from a reputable brand might yield slightly better results.
- Incompatibility with Older USB Ports: This enclosure is designed for Thunderbolt 5/4/3 and USB4 interfaces. It is not compatible with older USB standards like USB 3.2 (Gen1, 2, 2x2) or USB 2.0 and will not be recognized by devices using these older ports. Ensure your device supports the specified interfaces.
9. Warranty and Support
