Three Citizen Collection Eco-Drive Chronograph watches in black, silver, and blue.

The Citizen Collection Eco-Drive Chronograph series, featuring models with black, silver, and blue dials, showcasing the stylish design.

Initial Setup and Charging

Your Citizen Eco-Drive watch is powered by light. Before initial use, ensure the watch is fully charged.

Charging Instructions

Expose the watch dial to direct sunlight or strong artificial light for several hours. A full charge typically provides approximately 1.5 years of power reserve with the power-saving function active.

Diagram illustrating Citizen Eco-Drive technology, showing light passing through the cover glass and dial to a solar cell, charging a secondary battery that powers the movement.

This diagram illustrates the Eco-Drive mechanism: light penetrates the watch face, is converted into electrical energy by a solar cell, and stored in a secondary battery to power the watch movement. This eliminates the need for regular battery replacement.

To maintain charge, store the watch in an area where it can receive light, rather than in darkness.

Time and Date Setting

Refer to the detailed operating instructions for movement E821 on the official Citizen website for precise time and date setting procedures. A link to the manufacturer's website is provided in the "Support" section.

Maintenance

Cleaning

Wipe the watch regularly with a soft, dry cloth to remove dust and smudges. For water-resistant models, a damp cloth can be used, followed by drying.

Water Resistance

This watch features 10 ATM water resistance, suitable for daily use, showering, and surface swimming. Avoid operating buttons or the crown when the watch is wet.

Avoiding Extreme Conditions

Do not expose the watch to extreme temperatures, strong magnetic fields, or harsh chemicals, as these can affect its accuracy and integrity.

Power Reserve

To ensure continuous operation, regularly expose your Eco-Drive watch to light. If the watch stops due to insufficient charge, expose it to light immediately to resume operation.
