4. Setup Instructions

  1. Initial Cleaning: Before first use, thoroughly wash the stainless steel water bowl and filter tray with mild soap and water. Rinse all components thoroughly to remove any residue. The stainless steel bowl is dishwasher safe.
  2. Filter Preparation: Rinse the new filter under running water for a few minutes to remove any loose carbon dust.
  3. Assemble Filter Tray: Place the prepared filter into the designated slot in the filter tray. Ensure it sits securely.
  4. Place Wireless Pump: Insert the wireless water pump into the center opening of the filter tray. Ensure it is firmly seated.
  5. Fill with Water: Place the assembled filter tray and pump into the stainless steel bowl. Fill the bowl with clean water up to the MAX fill line, but not exceeding it. Do not allow the water level to drop below the MIN line during operation.
  6. Position Fountain: Place the fountain on a stable, level surface in a location accessible to your pet. The wireless design allows for flexible placement without being tethered by a power cord directly to the pump.

5. Operating Instructions

The DownyPaws Cat Water Fountain offers two distinct water dispensing modes:

  • Motion Activated Mode: In this mode, the fountain dispenses water when your cat approaches within approximately 59 inches (1.5 meters). This encourages pets to drink more by providing fresh, flowing water on demand.
  • Timed Mode: In this mode, the fountain dispenses water for 20 seconds at regular 15-minute intervals. This ensures consistent hydration reminders for your pet throughout the day.

Refer to the button on the wireless pump to switch between modes. A visual indicator or a specific button press sequence will activate the desired mode.

LED Light Reminder

The fountain is equipped with an LED light indicator to provide real-time water level status:

  • Blue Light: Indicates sufficient water level and normal operation.
  • Red Light: Indicates low water level. Please add water immediately to prevent the pump from running dry.
