  • Maintain Firm Grip: Always hold the chainsaw firmly with both hands when operating.
  • Avoid Overreaching: Do not overreach. Maintain proper footing and balance at all times.
  • Battery Safety: Use only the specified batteries and charger. Do not expose batteries to water or extreme temperatures.

2. Automatic Oiling System

The chainsaw features a 30ml leak-proof oil tank for automatic chain lubrication. Proper lubrication is crucial for performance and longevity.

  1. Locate the oil tank cap on the chainsaw unit.
  2. Unscrew the cap and fill the tank with appropriate chainsaw bar and chain oil using the provided empty oil bottle.
  3. Do not overfill. Ensure the cap is securely tightened after filling.
  4. Monitor the transparent oil window during operation to ensure sufficient oil levels.

3. Chain Tensioning (Tool-Free)

The quick self-tensioning system allows for easy chain adjustment without tools.

  1. Ensure the battery is removed for safety.
  2. Locate the tensioning knob on the side of the chainsaw.
  3. Rotate the knob to adjust the chain tension. The chain should be snug against the guide bar but still able to be pulled freely by hand.
  4. Refer to the diagram for correct tensioning.

  1. Ensure the battery is removed from the chainsaw unit.
  2. Align the chainsaw unit with the top end of the extension pole.
  3. Securely attach the chainsaw to the pole using the designated locking mechanism. Ensure it clicks into place or is tightened according to the pole's design.
  4. Adjust the pole to the desired length, up to 16 feet, and secure the locking clamps.

Operation

General Operation Guidelines

  • Always wear appropriate safety gear.
  • Ensure the chain is sharp, properly tensioned, and lubricated.
  • Insert a fully charged battery into the tool.
  • To start, press the safety lock button and then squeeze the trigger.
  • Release the trigger to stop the tool.

Using as a Mini Chainsaw (6-inch or 8-inch)

The mini chainsaw is suitable for pruning branches, cutting firewood, and other light to medium cutting tasks.

  1. Hold the chainsaw firmly with both hands.
  2. Position the guide bar against the material to be cut.
  3. Start the chainsaw and allow the chain to reach full speed before engaging the material.
  4. Apply steady, light pressure. Let the saw do the work.
  5. Avoid forcing the saw, as this can cause kickback or damage the motor.

Using as a Pole Saw (Max Reach 16 Feet)

The extended pole saw allows for safe trimming of high branches from the ground, eliminating the need for ladders.

  1. Ensure the pole is securely attached and adjusted to the appropriate length.
  2. Wear the shoulder belt for better control and weight distribution.
  3. Stand on a stable, level surface. Maintain a safe distance from the cutting area.
  4. Position the saw blade against the branch from below, allowing gravity to assist the cut.
  5. Start the saw and apply gentle, consistent pressure. Avoid cutting branches thicker than the recommended capacity (up to 8 inches).
  6. Be aware of falling branches and plan your cuts to avoid injury or damage.

Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your Supstable S5 Sky.

  • Cleaning: After each use, remove the battery and clean the saw unit, guide bar, and chain. Use a brush or compressed air to remove sawdust and debris.
  • Chain Lubrication: Regularly check the oil level in the automatic oiling system. Refill as needed with quality bar and chain oil.
  • Chain Tension: Periodically check and adjust chain tension. A properly tensioned chain should be snug but still movable by hand.
  • Chain Sharpening/Replacement: A dull chain reduces cutting efficiency and increases kickback risk. Sharpen the chain as needed or replace it when worn. Refer to a professional for sharpening if unsure.
  • Storage: Store the tool in a dry, secure location, out of reach of children. Remove the battery before storage.
