1. Important Safety Information

• Battery Safety: Always use the correct size and type of batteries (AAA). Ensure batteries are inserted with correct polarity (+ and -). Do not mix old and new batteries, or different types of batteries. Remove batteries if the remote control will not be used for an extended period.
• Environmental Conditions: Do not expose the remote control to water, excessive heat, or direct sunlight.
• Disposal: Dispose of used batteries and the remote control according to local regulations.

3. Product Overview

The RETROSUN BW478 remote control is designed for intuitive operation of your adjustable bed. It features an ergonomic design and clearly labeled buttons for various bed adjustments.

Button Functions:

• HEAD UP: Raises the head section of the bed.
• HEAD DOWN: Lowers the head section of the bed.
• FOOT UP: Raises the foot section of the bed.
• FOOT DOWN: Lowers the foot section of the bed.
• ZG (Zero Gravity): Activates the Zero Gravity preset position.
• Anti Snore: Activates the Anti Snore preset position.
• M (Memory Function): Saves or recalls a custom bed position.
• FLAT (One Touch Lay Flat): Returns the bed to a completely flat position.

4. Setup

4.1 Battery Installation

The remote control requires two 1.5V AAA batteries (not included).

1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the remote control.
2. Slide the cover open.
3. Insert two AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+ and -).
4. Close the battery compartment cover securely.

4.2 Pairing Instructions

Before first use, or if the remote control loses connection, it needs to be paired with your adjustable bed base. Ensure your original remote's buttons and colors match this replacement before proceeding.

1. Step 1: Ensure the batteries in the remote control are working correctly. Replace them if necessary.
2. Step 2: Disconnect the power cord of the bed's control box from the power source. Wait for 1 minute, then re-insert it into the socket. (Complete Step 3 within 10 seconds of re-inserting the power cord).
3. Step 3: Press and hold the HEAD DOWN and FOOT UP buttons on the remote control simultaneously. While holding these, press and hold the blue pairing button on the bed's plug cable for 3 seconds until you hear a beep sound. The remote is then paired.

Note: If there is no pairing button on the plug cable, it will typically be located on the control box of the adjustable bed.

5. Operating Instructions

Once paired, the remote control allows you to adjust your bed's position with ease. The operational distance is approximately 8 meters (26 feet).

• Press and hold the desired button (e.g., HEAD UP, FOOT DOWN) to adjust the bed to your preferred position. Release the button when the desired position is reached.
• For preset positions, press the ZG (Zero Gravity) or Anti Snore button. The bed will automatically move to that position.
• To return the bed to a flat position, press the FLAT button.
• Use the M (Memory) button to save or recall a favorite position. Refer to your adjustable bed base manual for specific instructions on setting memory positions.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

To clean the remote control, wipe it gently with a soft, dry cloth. Do not use abrasive cleaners, solvents, or immerse the remote in water.

6.2 Battery Replacement

If the remote control's range decreases or buttons become unresponsive, it may be time to replace the batteries. Follow the battery installation steps in Section 4.1.

7. Troubleshooting

If you encounter issues with your remote control, please refer to the following common solutions:

• Remote not responding:
  • Check the battery before operation. Ensure batteries are correctly inserted and have sufficient charge. Replace if needed.
  • Ensure the remote is within the operational range (approximately 8 meters) of the bed base.
• Pairing does not work:
  • Disconnect the adjustable bed from the power supply for 1 minute, then reconnect and attempt the pairing process again (refer to Section 4.2).
  • Verify that the buttons and colors of your original or old remote are exactly the same as this replacement before attempting to pair.
• Bed not operating normally:
  • Check whether the child lock function is turned on for your adjustable bed base. If activated, the bed cannot be operated normally. Refer to your bed base manual for instructions on disabling child lock.
