Proper installation is crucial for the performance and longevity of your mini split system. It is highly recommended that installation be carried out by qualified professionals. The following video provides a general guide to the installation process.
Installation Video Guide:
This video provides a comprehensive guide for the installation of the Upstreman Mini Split Air Conditioner, covering steps for both indoor and outdoor units.
Key Installation Steps:
- Mounting Board Installation: Install the metal installation board for the indoor unit. Use a level to ensure horizontal alignment and mark drilling points. Secure the board to the wall with screws.
- Indoor Unit Preparation: Open the front panel of the indoor unit. Turn the indoor unit on its side to access the wiring.
- Electrical Wiring (Indoor Unit): Pass the power cable out from the back of the indoor unit. Open the electric control box board, unscrew the wire clamp, and connect the wires to the terminal block according to the wiring diagram on the board. Tighten the wire clamp and close the control box board and indoor unit panel.
- Connecting Pipes Preparation: Straighten the indoor and outdoor connecting pipes. Remove the caps from the outdoor unit connection pipes and connect them to the indoor unit. Tighten the caps with two wrenches.
- Drain Pipe Connection: Connect the drain pipe to the indoor unit. Tighten the drain pipe joint with tape.
- Wrapping Pipes and Wires: Wrap the connecting pipes with PVC protective tape tightly from the indoor unit connection to the outdoor unit connection, including the indoor unit power cord. When the tape reaches the drain pipe connection point, separate the drain pipe and continue wrapping. Separate the connecting pipes and power cord at about 11.8 inches from the end, wrap one connecting pipe first, then the other. Use tape to fix the separation point.
- Wall Hole Drilling: Use a level to determine the location for drilling holes in the wall for indoor and outdoor connecting pipes to pass through. Drill a hole with a diameter of 2.36 – 3.15 inches.
- Passing Pipes Through Wall: Pass the wrapped indoor and outdoor connecting pipes, power cord, and drain pipe through the drilled hole.
- Mounting Indoor Unit: Hang the indoor unit on the wall and ensure it is stable.
- Outdoor Unit Connections: Use a wrench to unscrew the valve caps on the outdoor unit. Connect the thick and thin connecting pipes separately and tighten them with a wrench.
- Vacuuming: Before vacuuming, check all nuts of the indoor and outdoor unit are tightened. Connect the vacuum pump to the low-pressure valve and evacuate for 20-30 minutes. Ensure the value on the pressure gauge is less than or equal to -0.1 MPa.
- Electrical Wiring (Outdoor Unit): Unscrew the screws on the handle cover and open it. Pass the power cords through the holes. Secure the connection wires to the terminal block according to the wiring diagram on the handle cover. Tighten the wire clamp. Close the handle cover and tighten the screws.
- Releasing Refrigerant: Remove the vacuum pump pipe and screw the red valve cover back on. Use a hexagon socket to loosen the valve counterclockwise. Tighten the valve caps and tighten them with a wrench.
- Finishing Touches: To protect pipes and wires, install a pipe protecting ring and seal the gap with sealant.
