3. Setup and Installation
Proper installation is crucial for the efficient operation of your portable air conditioner. Follow these steps carefully.
3.1 Unpacking
- Carefully remove the unit from its packaging.
- Remove all packing materials, tapes, and protective films.
- Check for any shipping damage. If the unit is damaged, do not operate it and contact customer support.
3.2 Window Kit Installation
The adjustable window kit is designed for vertical or horizontal window openings. It eliminates the need for manual cutting of extension panels.
- Assemble the window kit panels to fit your window opening. Secure them with the provided hardware.
- Open the window and place the assembled window kit into the window frame. Extend the panels to fit snugly and close the window to secure the kit.
- Ensure the window kit is sealed properly to prevent air leakage.
3.3 Dual Hose Connection
The HIAP0825TWD uses a dual-hose system for improved cooling efficiency. One hose serves as the air intake, and the other as the exhaust.

- Attach the intake hose to the designated intake port on the back of the unit and to the corresponding opening on the window kit.
- Attach the exhaust hose to the designated exhaust port on the back of the unit and to the corresponding opening on the window kit.
- Ensure both hoses are securely fastened and extended as straight as possible to minimize airflow restriction. Avoid sharp bends.
3.4 Power Connection
Plug the power cord into a grounded 115V, 60Hz electrical outlet. Do not use extension cords or power strips.
4. Operating Instructions
Your Hisense portable air conditioner offers multiple modes and smart features for optimal comfort.
4.1 Control Panel and Remote Control
The unit can be operated using the control panel on top of the unit or the included remote control. Refer to the diagrams in your quick start guide for button layouts.
4.2 Operating Modes
Press the Mode button to cycle through the available modes:
- Cooling Mode: Provides cooling to the room. Set your desired temperature using the temperature adjustment buttons.
- Dehumidifying Mode: Removes moisture from the air. The fan speed is automatically set in this mode.
- Fan Mode: Circulates air without cooling. Select from multiple fan speeds.
4.3 Fan Speeds
In Cooling and Fan modes, press the Fan Speed button to select between Low, Medium, and High fan speeds. In Dehumidifying mode, the fan speed is automatic.
4.4 Smart Features
- Wi-Fi App Control: Download the Hisense ConnectLife app to control your unit remotely. The unit is compatible with Alexa and Google Assistant for voice control.

- 24-Hour Timer: Set the unit to turn on or off automatically after a specified period.
- Sleep Mode: Adjusts temperature and fan speed for quiet, comfortable sleep.
- Auto-Restart: The unit will automatically restart with the previous settings after a power outage.

5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your air conditioner.
5.1 Air Filter Cleaning
The air filter should be cleaned every two weeks or more frequently depending on usage and air quality.

- Unplug the unit from the power outlet.
- Locate and remove the air filter from the back or side of the unit (refer to Figure 5.1).
- Wash the filter with warm, soapy water. Rinse thoroughly and allow it to air dry completely before reinstalling.
- Reinstall the dry filter and plug the unit back in.
5.2 Water Drainage
The HIAP0825TWD features a self-evaporation system, which automatically expels condensation in most conditions. However, in high humidity or during extended dehumidifying operation, manual drainage may be required.

- Unplug the unit.
- Locate the drain port at the bottom rear of the unit.
- Place a shallow pan or connect a garden hose to the drain port (as shown in Figure 5.2) to collect water.
- Remove the drain plug to allow water to flow out.
- Once drained, replace the drain plug securely.
5.3 Storage
When storing the unit for an extended period:
- Drain all accumulated water.
- Clean the air filter.
- Run the unit in fan-only mode for a few hours to dry the interior.
- Unplug the unit and coil the power cord.
- Store the unit in a dry, upright position, covered to protect it from dust.
