2. Safety Information
Always observe the following safety precautions to prevent electric shock, injury, or damage to the equipment:
- Power Source: Connect the mixer only to the specified power supply voltage. Ensure the power cord is not damaged or pinched.
- Moisture: Do not expose the unit to rain, moisture, or excessive humidity. Avoid placing liquid-filled objects on the mixer.
- Ventilation: Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit. Do not block ventilation openings.
- Servicing: Do not attempt to service the unit yourself. Refer all servicing to qualified personnel.

3. Product Overview
The HAYDEN HY-12FX is a 12-channel professional audio mixer featuring 10 mono mic/line inputs and 2 stereo channels. It includes a built-in 99 DSP effects processor, 3-band EQ on each channel, phantom power, USB, and Bluetooth connectivity.

4. Setup
Follow these steps to set up your HAYDEN HY-12FX mixer:
- Power Connection:
- Ensure the mixer's power switch is in the OFF position.
- Connect the provided power adapter to the DC IN socket on the rear panel of the mixer.
- Plug the power adapter into a suitable electrical outlet.
- Connecting Microphones:
- For dynamic microphones, connect an XLR cable from the microphone to the XLR input of a mono channel.
- For condenser microphones, connect an XLR cable to the XLR input. Before activating +48V Phantom Power, ensure all condenser microphones are connected.
- Connecting Line Inputs:
- Connect instruments or other line-level devices (e.g., keyboards, CD players) to the 6.35mm LINE IN jacks of the mono channels or the STEREO L/R inputs.
- Connecting Main Outputs:
- Connect the MAIN OUT XLR or 6.35mm jacks to your power amplifier, active speakers, or recording device.
- Connecting Headphones:
- Plug your headphones into the PHONES jack for monitoring.
- Connecting to a Computer (USB):
- Use a USB cable to connect the mixer's USB port to your computer for audio recording or playback.

5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Powering On/Off
- To power on, ensure all channel faders and the main mix fader are at their minimum positions. Flip the power switch to ON.
- To power off, lower all faders, then flip the power switch to OFF.
5.2 Channel Controls
Each mono input channel features the following controls:
- GAIN: Adjusts the input level. Start with this at minimum and slowly increase until the signal is strong without clipping.
- HIGH, MID, LOW (EQ): Adjusts the treble, midrange, and bass frequencies for the channel.
- AUX: Controls the amount of signal sent to the AUX output.
- PAN: Positions the channel signal in the stereo field (left to right).
- MUTE: Silences the channel.
- CHANNEL FADER: Controls the overall volume of the channel in the main mix.
5.3 DSP Effects

The HY-12FX includes 99 digital signal processing (DSP) effects:
- Effect Selection: Use the PROGRAM knob to scroll through the 99 available effects. Press the knob to select an effect.
- Effect Level: Use the FX LEVEL control to adjust the overall amount of effect applied to the main mix.
- Sending to FX: Use the FX send control on each channel to determine how much of that channel's signal is sent to the DSP effects processor.
5.4 Phantom Power (+48V)
To activate phantom power for condenser microphones, locate the +48V PHANTOM POWER switch. Ensure all condenser microphones are connected before switching it ON. Turn it OFF before disconnecting microphones.

- USB Playback/Recording: Connect a USB drive for MP3 playback or connect the mixer to a computer via USB for digital audio input/output. The mixer will appear as an audio device on your computer.
- Bluetooth: Activate Bluetooth on your device and search for 'HAYDEN HY-12FX'. Pair with the mixer to stream audio wirelessly.
5.6 Main Mix & Monitoring
- MAIN MIX FADER: Controls the overall output volume of the mixer.
- HEADPHONE VOLUME: Adjusts the volume for the headphone output.
- LEVEL METER: The 12-segment LED meter displays the main output level. Aim for levels around 0 dB to avoid clipping.
6. Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and optimal performance of your mixer:
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the exterior of the mixer. Do not use liquid cleaners or solvents.
- Dust: Keep the mixer free from dust. Use compressed air to clean faders and knobs if they become stiff or noisy.
