2. Safety Information

5. Operating Instructions
Once the filter is installed and fully submerged, plug it into a power outlet. The filter will begin operating immediately.
U-V Light Timer Function
The integrated U-V light helps control green water. Use the timer feature to set the operating duration for the U-V light:
- Press the timer button to cycle through options: 4 hours, 8 hours, 12 hours, or 24 hours.
- The selected duration indicates how long the U-V light will operate before automatically turning off. It will then restart after a full cycle.
- A light indicator on the filter housing provides visual confirmation of the U-V light's operational status.

Dual Modes: Aeration and Rainfall
The filter offers two output modes to suit your aquarium's needs:
- Aerating Mode: Utilizes an air venturi and adjustable tubing to boost oxygen levels in the water. Adjust the tubing for precise airflow control.
- Rainfall Mode: Disperses filtered water evenly via a spray bar, promoting gentle surface agitation and balanced water circulation.

6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and longevity of your filter. Always unplug the filter before cleaning.
Cleaning the Filter Sponge
The included filter sponge efficiently traps physical impurities. It should be cleaned regularly to prevent clogging and maintain water flow.
- Unplug the filter from the power source.
- Carefully remove the filter unit from the aquarium.
- Disassemble the filter housing to access the filter sponge.
- Rinse the filter sponge thoroughly with old aquarium water (from a water change) or dechlorinated tap water. Avoid using untreated tap water as it can kill beneficial bacteria.
- Reassemble the filter and place it back into the aquarium.

U-V Light Maintenance
The U-V light bulb has a limited lifespan and may need replacement over time. The glass sleeve protecting the U-V bulb should also be kept clean for optimal performance.
- Unplug the filter.
- Disassemble the filter to access the U-V light assembly.
- Gently clean the glass sleeve with a soft cloth to remove any algae or mineral buildup.
- If replacing the U-V bulb, handle the new bulb carefully, avoiding direct skin contact with the glass.
- Reassemble the unit securely.
Water Changing with Filter Nozzles
The filter is equipped with two water nozzles compatible with 1/2 inch and 5/8 inch tubing (tubing not included). These can be used to facilitate water changes.
