1. Introduction

Thank you for purchasing the SOFTSEA Loft Bed. This instruction manual provides essential information for the safe assembly, operation, and maintenance of your new loft bed. Please read this manual thoroughly before beginning assembly and retain it for future reference.

1.1 Safety Information

• Always follow all assembly instructions carefully.
• Ensure all parts are present and undamaged before assembly. Do not use if any parts are missing or damaged.
• Assembly requires at least two adults. An electric screwdriver is highly recommended for efficiency and safety.
• Do not overtighten screws initially. Loosely assemble all components, then tighten all screws securely once the entire structure is complete.
• Regularly check all screws and connections to ensure they remain tight. Loose connections can compromise stability.
• This loft bed is designed for use with a mattress thickness of 3.9 inches (10 cm) or more. Using thinner mattresses or futons directly on the floorboard may cause damage to the floorboard.
• The maximum weight capacity for this loft bed is approximately 330.7 lbs (150 kg). Do not exceed this limit.
• Keep children away from the assembly area until the bed is fully assembled and secured.

3. Assembly Instructions

Assembly typically takes approximately 120 minutes with two or more adults. An electric screwdriver is highly recommended for ease of assembly.

3.1 Pre-Assembly Checklist

• Clear a spacious area for assembly.
• Unpack all components and lay them out, comparing them with the parts list.
• Gather necessary tools: Phillips head screwdriver (or electric screwdriver), Allen wrench (usually included).

3.2 Step-by-Step Assembly

1. Assemble the Main Frame: Begin by connecting the main vertical and horizontal steel pipes according to the diagrams in your included paper manual. Insert screws loosely at this stage.
2. Attach Crossbars and Supports: Secure the crossbars and additional support beams to the main frame. Ensure all connections are aligned before tightening.
3. Install the Integrated Ladder: The ladder can be installed on either the left or right side of the bed frame to suit your room layout. Position the ladder and secure it to the designated attachment points.

4. Mount the Main Shelf with Outlet: Attach the gallery shelf to the desired side of the bed frame. Ensure the outlet is accessible and properly secured. This shelf is also removable.

5. Place the Floorboards: Lay the floorboards or slats evenly across the bed frame. Ensure they are securely seated and distributed to support the mattress.
6. Final Tightening: Once all components are in place and the bed structure is complete, go back and securely tighten all screws and bolts. Do not overtighten to avoid stripping threads.

3.3 Important Notes for Assembly

• For optimal stability, ensure the bed is placed on a flat, level surface.
• The bed's dimensions are approximately 81.7 x 41.3 x 66.9 inches (207 x 105 x 170 cm). Plan your space accordingly.

4. Operation and Usage

4.1 Utilizing the Loft Bed

• Sleeping Area: The top bunk provides a comfortable sleeping area. Always use a mattress with a thickness of 3.9 inches (10 cm) or more to ensure proper support and prevent damage to the floorboards.
• Integrated Ladder: Use the integrated ladder for safe access to the top bunk. Ensure a firm grip and stable footing when ascending or descending.
• Main Shelf with Outlet: The integrated shelf is ideal for placing small items such as an alarm clock, books, or a smartphone. The single outlet allows for convenient charging of electronic devices.
• Underbed Space: The generous height of 66.9 inches (170 cm) provides ample space underneath the bed. This area can be utilized for storage, a study desk, a lounge area, or other purposes.

5. Maintenance

• Regular Screw Checks: It is recommended to check all screws and bolts on a regular basis (e.g., monthly or quarterly) to ensure they remain tight. Retighten any loose connections to maintain the bed's stability and safety.
• Cleaning: Clean the steel frame with a soft, damp cloth and mild detergent. Avoid abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the powder coating.
• Floorboard Care: Ensure the mattress is always placed on the floorboards. Avoid placing heavy, sharp objects directly on the floorboards without a mattress, as this may cause damage.
