7. Troubleshooting and Common Pitfalls

If you encounter issues, review the following common solutions:

  • No Display/Flickering: Ensure all DisplayPort cables are securely connected and are of sufficient quality (DP 1.4 or higher for 8K@60Hz). Verify your computer's graphics card supports the desired resolution and refresh rate.
  • USB Peripherals Not Working: Check that the USB 3.0 cables from your computers to the KVM switch are properly connected. Try connecting peripherals directly to the computer to confirm they are functional.
  • Switching Delays: A brief delay (3-5 seconds) during switching is normal as the KVM re-establishes EDID and display signals. If delays are excessive, ensure all cables are connected correctly.
  • Incorrect Resolution: Ensure your computer is set to dual-display mode (e.g., by pressing Windows+P). The KVM's Adaptive EDID should optimize settings, but manual adjustment may be needed.
  • Using Adapters/Converters: Using DisplayPort to HDMI, VGA, or DVI adapters/converters may cause compatibility issues. For optimal performance, use native DisplayPort connections. If adapters are necessary, ensure they are high-quality and active.
