Setup
1. Unpacking
Carefully remove the clock from its packaging. Inspect for any signs of damage. Retain packaging for future transport or storage.
2. Battery Installation
The clock requires three AA batteries (not included): one for the clock movement and two for the chime function. The pendulum is decorative and does not require batteries.
- Locate the battery compartments on the back and bottom of the clock.
- Insert one AA battery into the main clock movement compartment on the back, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).
- Insert two AA batteries into the chime unit compartment located at the bottom of the clock, ensuring correct polarity (+/-).

3. Setting the Time
Turn the minute hand clockwise using the adjustment knob on the back of the clock movement until the correct time is displayed. Ensure the hour hand moves accordingly. Do not move the hour hand directly.
4. Pendulum Setup
The gold-tone pendulum is decorative. Gently ensure it is hanging freely within its designated opening at the bottom of the clock face. It will swing continuously once the clock is operating.

Operating the Chime Function
The clock features an electronic chime unit with multiple modes and volume control.
1. Chime Modes and Selection
The chime unit, located at the bottom of the clock, offers four distinct modes. Use the 'MODE' switch to cycle through them:
- Mode 1: Retro Music Melody combined with Hourly Strikes (Chimes every hour, from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM).
- Mode 2: Westminster Melody combined with Hourly Strikes (Chimes every hour, from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM).
- Mode 3: Westminster Melody combined with Hourly Strikes and Quarter-Hour Chimes (Chimes every quarter-hour, from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM).
- Mode 4: Hourly Strikes Only (Chimes every hour, from 6:00 AM to 9:00 PM).
2. Volume Control
Adjust the chime volume using the rotary knob on the chime unit. Turn clockwise to increase volume, counter-clockwise to decrease.
3. Nighttime Mute Function
The clock features an automatic nighttime mute function. Chimes will not sound between 9:00 PM and 6:00 AM, ensuring a quiet environment during sleeping hours.

Maintenance
1. Cleaning
To clean the wooden frame, use a soft, dry cloth. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals that may damage the finish. For the clock face, gently wipe with a soft, lint-free cloth.
2. Battery Replacement
When the clock's timekeeping becomes inaccurate or the chime function weakens/stops, it is time to replace the batteries. Replace all three AA batteries simultaneously to ensure optimal performance.
3. General Care
Place the clock on a stable, level surface away from direct sunlight, extreme temperatures, and high humidity to preserve the wood and internal components.
Troubleshooting
- Clock not keeping accurate time or stopped:
Check and replace all batteries. Ensure batteries are inserted with correct polarity. - Chimes not sounding:
Verify that the chime unit batteries are correctly installed and not depleted. Check the 'ON/OFF' switch on the chime unit is in the 'ON' position. Ensure the time is not within the automatic nighttime mute period (9 PM - 6 AM). - Chimes not matching the hour:
If the chimes are out of sync with the displayed time, follow the chime reset instructions typically found on the chime unit itself or refer to the product's quick start guide. Generally, this involves removing the chime battery, setting the time to 6:50, reinserting the battery, pressing the 'SET' button, and then turning the hour hand to the correct time. - Pendulum not swinging:
Ensure the clock is on a level surface and the pendulum is not obstructed. The pendulum is decorative and its movement is part of the clock's design, not critical for timekeeping.
