Step 2: Assemble the Bed Frames

Step 3: Connect Upper and Lower Frames
Carefully stack the upper bed frame onto the lower bed frame, aligning the connection points. Secure them using the designated hardware. Ensure the structure is stable before proceeding.
Step 4: Install Slats and Guardrails
Place the metal slats onto the support beams of both the upper and lower beds. Secure them according to the instructions to provide a sturdy mattress foundation. Attach the guardrails to the upper bunk.

Step 5: Attach Ladder and Assemble Drawers
Securely attach the built-in ladder to the bunk bed frame. Assemble the two storage drawers by attaching the wooden fronts to the metal mesh baskets and installing the wheels. Slide the assembled drawers under the lower bunk.

Step 6: Final Tightening and Inspection
Once all components are in place, go back and fully tighten all bolts and screws. Ensure the bed is stable and all safety features, such as guardrails and the ladder, are securely attached. Place mattresses on both bunks.
Convertible Feature: Separating into Two Individual Beds
This bunk bed can be converted into two individual full-size beds. To do so, carefully reverse the assembly steps for connecting the upper and lower frames. Ensure all connecting hardware is removed, and then position the two beds separately. The guardrails are only for the upper bunk configuration and should be removed if used as a single bed.

Operating and Usage Guidelines
- Mattress Requirements: No box spring is required for this bed. The sturdy metal slats provide adequate support. Ensure the mattress for the upper bunk does not exceed 6 inches in thickness to maintain proper guardrail height.
- Weight Capacity: The upper bunk has a maximum weight capacity of 450 lbs. The lower bunk has a maximum weight capacity of 400 lbs. Do not exceed these limits.
- Storage Drawers: The integrated storage drawers are designed for lightweight items such as bedding, clothes, or toys. Avoid overloading the drawers to ensure smooth operation of the wheels.
- Ladder Use: Always use the built-in ladder for safe access to and from the upper bunk.
Maintenance
- Cleaning: For the metal frame and wooden drawer fronts, wipe clean with a damp cloth and mild detergent. Dry immediately. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals.
- Hardware Check: Periodically (e.g., every 3 months) inspect all bolts, screws, and connections to ensure they remain tight. Tighten any loose hardware to maintain stability and safety.
- Drawer Maintenance: Keep the drawer wheels free of debris to ensure smooth gliding.
Troubleshooting
- Issue: Bed feels wobbly or unstable.
- Solution: Check all assembly hardware. Ensure all bolts and screws are fully tightened. If the issue persists, disassemble and reassemble, paying close attention to each connection.
- Issue: Squeaking noises.
- Solution: Squeaking often indicates loose connections. Retighten all bolts and screws. Applying a small amount of lubricant (e.g., silicone spray) to metal-on-metal contact points can also help.
- Issue: Storage drawers do not slide smoothly.
- Solution: Check for any obstructions under the bed or in the drawer tracks. Ensure the wheels are clean and free of debris. Verify that the drawers were assembled correctly and are not overloaded.
- Issue: Missing or damaged parts.
- Solution: Do not attempt to use the bed with missing or damaged parts. Contact Bellemave customer support for replacement parts.
