Setup Guide

Before beginning setup, ensure all components are present in the box:

Initial Setup

  1. Unpack: Remove all packaging materials from the robot and base station.
  2. Placement: Place the base station on a hard, level surface against a wall, ensuring at least 0.5 meters (1.6 feet) of clear space on both sides and 1.5 meters (4.9 feet) in front.
  3. Power Connection: Plug the base station into a power outlet.
  4. First Charge: Place the robot onto the charging contacts of the base station. Ensure it is properly aligned. The robot will begin charging automatically. For first use, fully charge the robot.
  5. App Download: Download the Narwal app from your mobile device's app store. Follow the in-app instructions to connect your robot to your home Wi-Fi network (2.4GHz only).

Operating Instructions

Navigation and Mapping

The Narwal Freo S utilizes high-precision LDS Laser Navigation to scan your home in 360° and create accurate real-time maps. This allows for efficient path planning and supports multi-floor map storage, making it ideal for multi-level homes.

1. Side Brushes

The side brush comes pre-installed. To remove for cleaning, use a cross-head screwdriver to rotate clockwise. Use a wipe towel to clean dust on the side brushes. After cleaning, rotate counterclockwise to reinstall.

2. Roller Brush

Press the release button on both sides to open the roller brush's cover. Pinch one end of the roller brush and lift it out. For hair entanglement, use the included hook tool in the dock to cut tangled hair. Manually remove cut hair to restore normal operation. Clean dust with a damp cloth. Wipe the bottom of the roller brush holder with wet wipes. Ensure proper alignment when reinstalling. A "click" sound indicates proper installation.

3. Mop Pads

Pinch one end of the pad and lift upward the mop module. Detach the mop pads from the velcro. Wash used pads with detergent. Note: Use only Narwal-approved detergent to avoid damage to the mop pads. Air-dry the cleaned mop pads in shade. To reinstall, align clean mop pads with the mop module. Secure Velcro firmly to prevent mop from falling off. Press down the mop module until both clips click into place.

4. Dust Bag

Open the dock lid. Pull up on the dust bag handle to remove. To replace, align new dust bag with slots and press down. Handle flush with slots indicates proper installation. Note: It is recommended to replace the dust bag every three months.

5. 2-in-1 Dust Bin & Water Tank

Press the release button while pulling it outward. To clean the dust bin, press the latch to open it. Empty debris and clean interior. Open the dust bin top cover. Remove HEPA filter. Clean debris on the filter. After cleaning, put it back into the dust bin. Put the water tank back until it clicks into place. When you hear a click, it is properly installed. To refill water tank, open left-side waterproof plug. Fill with clean water. After filling the water, re-seal plug tightly to prevent leaks.

6. Caster

Pull the caster upward. Remove foreign objects. Note: It is recommended to clean it every month. Wipe away the dust with a damp cloth. Dry and reinstall.

7. Sensors and Charging Contacts

Freo S features 6 sensors and 2 charging contacts. Gently wipe with a soft cloth. This includes the cliff sensors, structured light sensor, infrared anti-drop sensor, and charging contacts.

Troubleshooting
