3. Power On and Zero Setting
After battery installation, the LCD display should power on automatically or by pressing the "ON/OFF" button.
- Ensure the measuring jaws are completely closed and clean.
- Press the ZERO button (refer to Figure 1) to set the display to zero. This establishes the reference point for all subsequent measurements.
4. Unit Selection
The caliper can display measurements in both inches and millimeters.
- Press the mm/in button (refer to Figure 1) to switch between metric (mm) and imperial (in) units. The selected unit will be indicated on the LCD display.
Operating Instructions
Always ensure the caliper jaws are clean before taking measurements. Avoid applying excessive force, which can lead to inaccurate readings or damage the instrument.
1. External Measurement
- Open the external measuring jaws wider than the object to be measured.
- Place the object between the external jaws.
- Gently close the jaws until they make firm contact with the object. Use the roller for fine adjustment.
- Read the measurement directly from the LCD display.
- For consistent readings, use the locking screw to fix the jaws in place before removing the caliper from the object.
2. Internal Measurement
- Close the internal measuring jaws and insert them into the opening of the object to be measured.
- Gently open the jaws until they make firm contact with the internal surfaces.
- Read the measurement directly from the LCD display.
3. Depth Measurement
- Place the end of the main ruler firmly on the top surface of the object.
- Extend the depth measuring rod into the hole or recess until it touches the bottom.
- Read the measurement directly from the LCD display.
4. Step Measurement
- Place the end of the main ruler on the higher surface of the step.
- Extend the slider until the step measuring surface (the end of the main beam) rests on the lower surface.
- Read the measurement directly from the LCD display.

Maintenance
Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and accuracy of your digital caliper.
1. Cleaning
- Wipe the caliper clean with a dry, soft cloth after each use.
- Avoid using solvents or harsh chemicals, as these can damage the display or the caliper's finish.
- Ensure no dust, dirt, or liquids enter the electronic components or the battery compartment.
2. Battery Replacement
- When the display becomes dim or erratic, it's time to replace the battery.
- Follow the battery installation steps outlined in the "Setup" section.
- Dispose of old batteries responsibly according to local regulations.
3. Storage
- Store the caliper in its protective case when not in use to prevent damage from impacts or dust.
- Keep the caliper in a dry environment, away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
- Slightly open the jaws before storing to relieve tension on the measuring surfaces.
Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Display is blank or dim. | Low or dead battery. | Replace the CR2032 battery. |
| Inaccurate readings. |
|
|
| Slider movement is stiff or rough. | Accumulation of dirt or debris on the main beam. | Clean the main beam and slider surfaces. A very light application of instrument oil may help, but avoid getting it on the sensor strip. |
| Unit conversion (mm/in) button not responding. | Button malfunction or internal electronic issue. | Try removing and reinserting the battery. If the issue persists, contact customer support. |
