  1. Locate the quick release plate on the fluid head.
  2. Press the release button or lever to detach the quick release plate.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Adjusting Tripod Height

The tripod features 4-section column legs with quick-release flip-locks. To adjust height:

  1. Open the flip-locks on each leg section.
  2. Extend the leg sections to the desired height.
  3. Close the flip-locks firmly to secure the legs.
  4. The central column can also be extended for additional height. Loosen the central column lock, extend, and re-tighten.

The working height ranges from 16.2 inches (41 cm) to 72.5 inches (184 cm).

5.2 Adjusting Shooting Angle

The 36mm metal fluid head allows for precise angle adjustments:

  • Horizontal Rotation: Loosen the panoramic knob on the fluid head to rotate 360 degrees horizontally. Tighten to lock.
  • Pitching Angle: Use the pitch knob to adjust the vertical angle up to 145 degrees. Tighten to lock.
  • Low Angle Shooting/Macro Photography: The central pole can be inverted. To do this, remove the fluid head, invert the central column, and reattach the fluid head. This allows for very low camera positions.

5.3 Monopod Conversion

One of the tripod legs can be detached and converted into a monopod:

  1. Identify the leg marked for monopod conversion (often with a foam grip).
  2. Unscrew this leg from the tripod chassis.
  3. Unscrew the bottom cover of the central column.
  4. Pull the central column upwards to detach it.
  5. Connect the detached central column to the top of the monopod leg.
  6. You can then attach the fluid head to the top of the assembled monopod.

5.4 Using External Accessories

The tripod bracket includes two 1/4" threaded holes for attaching external accessories such as magic arms, mobile phone holders, or monitors.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Wipe the tripod with a soft, dry cloth after each use. For stubborn dirt, use a slightly damp cloth and then dry thoroughly. Do not use abrasive cleaners or solvents.
  • Lubrication: Moving parts, such as leg locks and head mechanisms, may benefit from occasional light lubrication with silicone-based grease if they become stiff. Avoid over-lubrication.
  • Storage: Store the tripod in its carrying bag in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
  • Inspection: Periodically check all screws, bolts, and locks for tightness. The hidden Allen key can be used for minor adjustments.

7. Troubleshooting

7.1 Tripod is Unstable

  • Ensure all leg sections are fully extended and their flip-locks are securely closed.
  • Verify the central column lock is tightened.
  • Check that the tripod is placed on a flat, stable surface.
  • Confirm that the camera or device is properly mounted and the quick release plate is locked.

7.2 Fluid Head Movement is Stiff or Loose

  • Stiff: Check if the panoramic knob or pitch knob is overtightened. Loosen slightly.
  • Loose: Tighten the panoramic knob and pitch knob as needed. If persistent, a small amount of silicone lubricant may be applied to the moving parts (consult Fotopro support if unsure).

7.3 Monopod Conversion Difficulty

  • Ensure you are unscrewing the correct leg designated for monopod conversion.
  • Verify that the central column's bottom cover is fully unscrewed before attempting to pull it out.
