4. Setup & Installation

Installation of the Leadfan Android Car Radio requires basic automotive electrical knowledge. If you are unsure, professional installation is recommended.

General Installation Steps:

1. Disconnect Battery: Before starting, disconnect the negative terminal of your car battery to prevent electrical shorts.
2. Remove Old Radio: Carefully remove your existing car radio and trim panels. Refer to your vehicle's service manual for specific instructions.
3. Connect Wiring Harness: Connect the provided plug-and-play power harness and CanBus decoder to your vehicle's wiring. Ensure all connections are secure.
4. Connect Peripherals:
   • GPS Antenna: Connect the GPS antenna and route it to a location with a clear view of the sky (e.g., dashboard).
   • WiFi & Bluetooth Antenna: Connect the signal booster cable.

• Connect the camera's power cable (red wire) to the car's reversing light positive (+).
• Connect the camera's ground cable (black wire) to the car's reversing light negative (-) or a suitable chassis ground.
• Connect the reversing trigger line (usually a thin red wire extending from the video cable) to the car's reversing light positive (+) or the reverse gear signal wire.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Basic Operation

5.2 Wireless CarPlay & Android Auto

1. Ensure Bluetooth and Wi-Fi are enabled on your smartphone.

• No Power / Unit Does Not Turn On:

If you want the radio to turn on/off with the ignition, ensure the orange wire (ACC) is connected to a switched 12V source, and the red wire (B+) is connected to constant 12V. If you want it to be manually turned on/off, connect both red and orange to constant 12V (though this is not recommended for ignition-controlled vehicles).

• Steering Wheel Controls Not Working:

  Verify the CanBus decoder is correctly installed and connected. Access the steering wheel control settings in the unit's menu and follow the instructions to learn the buttons.

• Bluetooth or Wi-Fi Not Functioning:

  Ensure the white plug for the WiFi & Bluetooth signal booster cable is securely connected to the radio. Check if the antennas are properly attached.
• Screen Too Bright at Night:

• AC Control Overlay Appears (for Manual AC cars):

• Unit is Slow or Unresponsive:
