4. Setup
4.1 Power Connection
The RBM2500 PRO supports dual voltage operation (120V/240V).
- Ensure the power switch on the welder is in the OFF position.
- Connect the appropriate power cord to the welder's input receptacle.
- Plug the power cord into a suitable grounded electrical outlet. For 240V operation, ensure the outlet is rated for the welder's maximum current draw.
4.2 Gas Connection (for Gas MIG/TIG)
For Gas MIG and Lift TIG welding, a shielding gas cylinder is required.
- Securely mount your CO2 or Argon/CO2 mix gas cylinder.
- Attach the provided CO2 gas regulator to the cylinder valve. Ensure a tight seal.
- Connect the gas hose from the regulator to the gas inlet fitting on the rear of the welder.
- Slowly open the cylinder valve. Adjust the flowmeter on the regulator to the desired gas flow rate (typically 15-25 CFH for MIG).
4.3 Wire Installation (for MIG/Flux Core)
- Open the wire spool compartment.
- Place the wire spool onto the spindle, ensuring it rotates freely.
- Thread the welding wire through the wire feed mechanism, ensuring it passes through the correct groove on the drive roller for your wire size.
- Close the wire pressing wheel to apply tension to the wire.
- With the MIG torch straight, press the trigger to feed the wire through the torch liner until it exits the contact tip.
5. Operating Modes
The RBM2500 PRO offers 8-in-1 welding capabilities for various materials and applications.

Image: Visual representation of various metal types that can be welded, including Aluminum, Carbon Steel, Stainless Steel, Iron, and Alloy, indicating the welder's versatility.
5.1 Gas MIG Welding (GMAW)
Used for welding steel, stainless steel, and aluminum with a shielding gas.
- Select the 'Gas MIG' mode on the control panel.
- Ensure gas is connected and flowing.
- Adjust voltage and wire feed speed according to material thickness and wire type.
- Connect the ground clamp to the workpiece.
- Begin welding, maintaining a consistent travel speed and arc length.
5.2 Flux Core Welding (FCAW)
Gasless welding, suitable for outdoor use or when gas is not available.
- Select the 'Flux Core' mode. No shielding gas is required.
- Use flux-cored wire.
- Adjust voltage and wire feed speed.
- Connect the ground clamp to the workpiece.
- Weld as needed, noting that flux core welding produces more spatter and requires slag removal.
5.3 Lift TIG Welding (GTAW)
Provides precise welds, especially for thinner materials. Requires a TIG torch (sold separately) and Argon gas.
- Select the 'Lift TIG' mode.
- Connect the TIG torch and ground clamp.
- Ensure Argon gas is connected and flowing.
- Set amperage.
- Touch the tungsten electrode to the workpiece to initiate the arc, then lift slightly to maintain the arc.
5.4 Stick Welding (MMA/SMAW)
Versatile for various materials and conditions using coated electrodes.
- Select the 'Stick' (MMA) mode.
- Connect the electrode holder and ground clamp.
- Insert the appropriate electrode into the holder.
- Set amperage based on electrode type and size.
- Strike the arc and maintain a consistent arc length and travel speed.
5.5 Spot Welding
For joining two overlapping pieces of sheet metal at specific points.
- Select the 'Spot' mode.
- Adjust settings for material thickness and desired spot weld duration.
- Position the torch and ground clamp appropriately for spot welding.
5.6 Spool Gun & Aluminum Modes
Optimized for aluminum welding with a spool gun (sold separately) and Argon gas.
- Connect a compatible spool gun to the welder.
- Select the 'Aluminum' mode.
- Ensure Argon gas is connected and flowing.
- Adjust settings for aluminum wire and material thickness.
6. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your welder.
- Daily: Inspect all cables, connections, and the MIG torch for damage. Clean the contact tip and nozzle.
- Weekly/Monthly: Use compressed air to blow out dust and debris from the welder's cooling vents. Check the wire feed rollers for wear and cleanliness. Inspect the gas regulator for leaks.
- Periodically: Check internal connections and components for signs of wear or overheating. This should only be done by qualified personnel with the power disconnected.
- Store the welder in a clean, dry environment when not in use.
