4. Operating Instructions

Familiarize yourself with the controls and practice in a safe, open area before attempting more challenging rides.

Starting the Engine:

  1. Fuel Mixture: This is a 2-stroke engine. Always use a proper fuel-to-oil mixture as specified in the engine manual (typically 25:1 or 50:1, refer to engine manufacturer's recommendations). Using incorrect fuel can damage the engine.
  2. Fuel Tank: Fill the fuel tank with the correct fuel mixture. Ensure the fuel cap is securely tightened.
  3. Choke: Locate the choke lever (usually on the carburetor). For a cold start, set the choke to the 'ON' or 'CLOSED' position. For a warm engine, the choke may not be necessary.
  4. Pull Start: With the emergency stop switch in the 'RUN' position, firmly pull the starter cord until the engine starts.
  5. Warm-up: Once the engine starts, allow it to warm up for a minute or two. Gradually move the choke lever to the 'OFF' or 'OPEN' position as the engine warms and runs smoothly.

Riding the Dirt Bike:

  • Throttle Control: The right handlebar grip controls the throttle. Twist it gently towards you to accelerate. The adjustable throttle grip allows for setting a maximum speed limit for beginners.
  • Braking: The front brake is typically on the right handlebar, and the rear brake on the left. Apply both brakes smoothly and evenly to slow down or stop. Avoid sudden, hard braking, especially with the front brake, to prevent loss of control.
  • Emergency Stop: In case of an emergency, press the emergency stop switch to immediately cut power to the engine.
  • Terrain: The 10" off-road tires are designed for various terrains such as dirt, grass, and rough paths. Exercise caution and adjust speed according to terrain conditions.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance is crucial for the longevity and safe operation of your dirt bike.

  • Fuel System: Always use the correct 2-stroke fuel mixture. Store fuel in an approved container. Clean the fuel filter periodically.
  • Tires: Check tire pressure before each ride. Maintain recommended pressure for optimal performance and safety. Inspect tires for wear or damage.
  • Brakes: Regularly inspect the front and rear disc brakes for wear on pads and rotors. Ensure brake levers operate smoothly and provide adequate stopping power. Adjust as needed.
  • Chain: Keep the drive chain clean, lubricated, and properly tensioned. A loose or dry chain can lead to poor performance or failure.
  • Fasteners: Regularly check and tighten all bolts, nuts, and fasteners, especially on critical components like the muffler, chain guard, and front fork, as vibrations can cause them to loosen over time.
  • Air Filter: Clean or replace the air filter regularly, especially when riding in dusty conditions, to ensure proper engine performance.
  • General Cleaning: After each ride, clean dirt and debris from the bike. Avoid using high-pressure washers directly on electrical components or bearings.
