5. Setup

5.1 Powering the Device

The Reshow Portable Cassette Player can be powered in two ways:

• USB Power: Connect the provided USB cable to the USB-C port on the device and the other end to a USB power adapter (not included) or a computer's USB port.
• Battery Power: Open the battery compartment on the back of the device and insert two (2) AA batteries (not included), ensuring correct polarity.

Important: Do not use both USB power and batteries simultaneously.

5.2 Loading a Cassette Tape

1. Gently open the cassette compartment door.
2. Insert a cassette tape with the open edge facing upwards and the side you wish to play/record facing the playback head.
3. Close the cassette compartment door firmly until it clicks.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Playing a Cassette Tape

1. Ensure a cassette tape is loaded and the device is powered on.
2. Press the PLAY button to start playback.
3. Adjust the volume using the Volume Dial.
4. To fast forward, press the FF button. To rewind, press the REW button. Press STOP to resume playback after fast forwarding or rewinding.
5. To stop playback, press the STOP button.
6. For private listening, connect 3.5mm headphones to the headphone jack. The built-in speaker will automatically mute.

6.2 Recording Audio to Cassette

The device can record audio using its built-in microphone.

1. Load a blank or recordable cassette tape into the device.
2. Press the RECORD button (often combined with PLAY, or a separate red button). The PLAY button will also engage.
3. Speak clearly into the built-in microphone.
4. To stop recording, press the STOP button.

6.3 Converting Cassette to MP3 via USB

This feature allows you to digitize your cassette tapes to MP3 format on your computer.

1. Connect the Reshow Portable Cassette Player to your computer using the provided USB cable.
2. Your computer should recognize the device as an audio input.
3. Open an audio recording software on your computer (e.g., Audacity, available for free online).
4. In the software, select the Reshow device as the audio input source.
5. Start recording in your software, then press the PLAY button on the cassette player.
