4. Setup

The TECURS MK209 keyboard offers three connection methods: 2.4GHz wireless, Bluetooth 5.0, and wired USB-C. Choose the method that best suits your needs.

4.1 Wired USB-C Connection

  1. Locate the USB-C port on the keyboard (usually on the top edge).
  2. Connect one end of the provided USB-C cable to the keyboard.
  3. Connect the other end of the USB-A connector to an available USB port on your computer.
  4. The keyboard will be automatically recognized and ready for use.

4.2 2.4GHz Wireless Connection

  1. Locate the 2.4GHz USB receiver (dongle) in the keyboard's storage slot or packaging.
  2. Plug the USB receiver into an available USB port on your computer.
  3. On the keyboard, switch the mode selector to 2.4G (often indicated by a wireless icon).
  4. The keyboard should connect automatically. If not, press Fn + R to initiate pairing.

4.3 Bluetooth 5.0 Connection

The keyboard supports connecting to up to three Bluetooth devices.

  1. On the keyboard, switch the mode selector to BT (Bluetooth).
  2. To enter pairing mode for a specific channel, press and hold Fn + Q, Fn + W, or Fn + E for 3-5 seconds until the indicator light flashes rapidly.
  3. On your device (PC, laptop, tablet, smartphone), enable Bluetooth and search for new devices.
  4. Select "TECURS MK209" (or similar name) from the list of available devices.
  5. Once paired, the indicator light will stop flashing. You can switch between paired Bluetooth devices by pressing Fn + Q, Fn + W, or Fn + E briefly.

5. Operating Instructions

5.1 Basic Keyboard Functions

  • Power On/Off: Use the switch located on the side/back of the keyboard.
  • Charging: Connect the USB-C cable to the keyboard and a power source. The indicator light will show charging status.
  • N-Key Rollover: The keyboard supports N-key rollover, ensuring all key presses are registered accurately during rapid typing or gaming.

5.2 Multi-function Knob

The knob has two modes: Office Mode and Gaming Mode. Long-press the knob for 5 seconds to switch between modes.

5.3 RGB Backlighting Control

The keyboard offers extensive RGB customization.

  • Press Fn + Right Arrow to change the RGB backlight mode.
  • Press Fn + Left Arrow to change the RGB backlight color.
  • Brightness and effect cycling can also be controlled via the multi-function knob in Gaming Mode.

6. Customization

6.1 Hot-Swappable Switches

The keyboard features hot-swappable sockets, allowing you to change switches without soldering. This supports both 3-pin and 5-pin mechanical switches.

  1. Use the provided switch puller to carefully remove the existing switch. Grip the switch firmly and pull straight up.
  2. Align the pins of the new switch with the holes on the PCB. Ensure the pins are straight.
  3. Gently press the new switch into place until it clicks. Do not force it.
  4. Test the new switch to ensure it functions correctly.

6.2 Software Customization

For advanced customization, including macro programming, RGB effects, and key remapping, download the dedicated software from the TECURS website. Note: The software is compatible only with Windows operating systems and requires the keyboard to be connected via wired USB-C mode for configuration.

7. Maintenance

Proper maintenance ensures the longevity and performance of your keyboard.

  • Cleaning Keycaps: Use the provided keycap puller to remove keycaps. Clean them with a soft cloth dampened with mild soap and water. Ensure they are completely dry before reattaching.
  • Cleaning the Keyboard Body: Wipe the keyboard body with a soft, dry, or slightly damp cloth. Avoid excessive moisture.
  • Dust Removal: Use compressed air to remove dust and debris from between the keycaps and switches.
  • Storage: Store the keyboard in a dry, cool place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures.
