2. What's in the Box

Upon opening your Radtel RT-880G package, please verify that all the following items are included:

3. Setup Guide

3.1 Battery Installation and Charging

The RT-880G comes with a 2400mAh Li-ion battery. Ensure the battery is fully charged before first use.

  1. Align the battery with the back of the radio and slide it into place until it clicks securely.
  2. To charge, connect the provided Type-C charging cable to the radio's Type-C port or place the radio in the desktop charging cradle.
  3. Connect the charging cable or cradle to the power supply with USB port, then plug into a wall outlet.
  4. The charging indicator light on the radio will show charging status (refer to the radio's display for battery level).

3.2 Antenna Attachment

The RT-880G supports dual antenna interfaces for versatile use. Attach the appropriate antenna (Dual band, MW, or SW) by screwing it clockwise onto the antenna connector until finger-tight.

4. Operating Instructions

4.1 Power On/Off and Volume

To power on or off, rotate the top knob clockwise or counter-clockwise. This knob also controls the volume. Adjust to a comfortable listening level.

4.2 Display and Navigation

The RT-880G features a 2.4-inch TFT HD large color screen display. Use the keypad and navigation buttons to access menus and settings.

4.3 GPS Positioning and APRS

The built-in GPS allows for real-time positioning. The APRS (Automatic Packet Reporting System) feature enables automatic position reporting, crucial for tracking and safety during outdoor activities.

4.4 VOX Function

Activate the VOX (Voice-Activated Transmission) function for hands-free operation. This feature allows the radio to transmit automatically when it detects your voice, eliminating the need to press the PTT button.

4.5 Channel Management and Frequencies

The RT-880G supports 1024 channels and three VFO (Variable Frequency Oscillator) channels, allowing for extensive frequency storage and flexible communication. It also features triple frequency standby, enabling monitoring of multiple frequencies simultaneously.

4.6 Push-to-Talk (PTT) Buttons

The radio features dual PTT buttons for convenient operation. Press and hold the PTT button on the side of the radio to transmit, and release to receive.

If you encounter issues with your Radtel RT-880G, refer to the following common problems and solutions:
