4. Setup and Assembly
The CBVELO Electric Bike arrives 90% pre-assembled. The remaining assembly steps are straightforward and typically include attaching the front wheel, handlebars, pedals, and seat.
4.1 Unpacking
- Carefully remove the bike and all components from the packaging.
- Remove all protective packaging materials.
- Retain the original packaging for future transport or warranty claims.
4.2 Component Installation
Follow these steps to complete the assembly:
- Install the Front Wheel: Align the front wheel with the front fork. Ensure the disc brake rotor slides correctly into the caliper. Secure the wheel using the quick-release skewer or axle nuts.
- Attach the Handlebars: Insert the handlebar stem into the fork steerer tube. Adjust the height and angle for comfortable riding, then tighten the stem bolts securely.
- Install the Pedals: Identify the left (L) and right (R) pedals. The left pedal tightens counter-clockwise, and the right pedal tightens clockwise. Apply a small amount of grease to the threads before installation.
- Adjust the Seat: Insert the seat post into the frame's seat tube. Adjust the seat height using the quick-release lever to ensure your legs have a slight bend at the knee when the pedal is at its lowest point.
- Install the Battery: Insert the fully charged battery into its designated compartment on the frame. Ensure it clicks securely into place.
After assembly, double-check all connections and bolts for tightness. Refer to the included assembly tools for proper tightening.

7. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter with your CBVELO Electric Bike.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| Bike does not power on. | Battery not charged or not properly installed. | Ensure battery is fully charged and securely seated in its compartment. Check connections. |
| Motor not assisting. | PAS level set to 0, battery low, or brake levers engaged. | Increase PAS level on the LCD display. Charge battery. Ensure brake levers are fully released. |
| Short battery range. | Under-inflated tires, riding uphill frequently, heavy load, or cold weather. | Check tire pressure. Use lower PAS levels or pedal more. Reduce load. Battery performance can be reduced in cold temperatures. |
| Brakes feel weak. | Worn brake pads, loose cables, or air in hydraulic system (if applicable). | Inspect and replace brake pads if worn. Adjust brake cable tension. If issue persists, consult a bike mechanic. |
| Gears are not shifting smoothly. | Dirty chain, misaligned derailleur, or stretched cable. | Clean and lubricate the chain. If shifting issues persist, professional adjustment may be required. |
