Operating Instructions
Initial Setup (Admin Code)
Upon first use, it is essential to set an Administrator PIN and/or register an Administrator RFID card. This administrator access is required to program user codes, cards, and change lock settings. Refer to the quick start guide included with your product for the specific programming steps to set up the administrator.
Unlocking Methods
The WOOCH RFID Lock M118RF supports three distinct unlocking methods:

- Passcode: Enter your programmed PIN on the keypad, followed by the '#' key (or equivalent confirmation key).
- RFID Card/Fob: Present a registered RFID card or fob to the sensor area on the keypad. The lock will unlock automatically.
- Dual Mode (Passcode + RFID Card): First, enter your PIN on the keypad, then immediately present a registered RFID card/fob to the sensor.
Programming User Codes and Cards
The lock supports up to 200 user PINs and 200 RFID cards. To program, you must first enter programming mode using the Administrator PIN or card.
- Enter Programming Mode: Press '*' then enter your Administrator PIN, followed by '#'.
- Add User PIN: While in programming mode, press '1', then enter the new 4-10 digit User PIN, followed by '#'. Repeat for additional user PINs.
- Add RFID Card/Fob: While in programming mode, press '2', then present the RFID card or fob to the keypad sensor. Repeat for additional cards/fobs.
- Delete User PIN/Card: While in programming mode, press '3', then enter the User ID (assigned during programming) or present the card/fob to be deleted, followed by '#'.
- Exit Programming Mode: Press '*' to exit programming mode.
Note: Refer to the quick start guide included with your product for exact key sequences and specific User ID management.
Public and Private Modes
The lock can operate in two distinct modes:
- Private Mode: Designed for long-term personal use. User codes and cards remain stored until manually deleted. This is the default mode.
- Public Mode: Ideal for temporary, shared access (e.g., gym lockers, shared office cabinets). A new code/card is set for each use and automatically cleared after the lock is opened.
Switching between modes: To switch modes, enter programming mode (* + Admin PIN + #), then press '4' + '#' for Public Mode or '5' + '#' for Private Mode.
Smart Security Features
- Auto-Lock: For convenience and security, the lock automatically secures itself approximately 5 seconds after being unlocked.
- Anti-Peep PIN Entry: To prevent others from observing your PIN, you can enter random digits before or after your actual PIN. The lock will still recognize the correct sequence within the longer entry. For example, if your PIN is 1234, entering 5671234890 will successfully unlock the device.
- Keypad Lockout: After 7 consecutive incorrect PIN attempts, the keypad will temporarily lock for 2 minutes to deter unauthorized access and brute-force attacks.
Maintenance
Battery Replacement
The lock is powered by standard batteries (not included). When the battery level is low, the lock will emit an audible alert or display a visual indicator. To replace the batteries, open the battery compartment on the interior locking mechanism and insert new batteries, ensuring correct polarity.
Emergency Power
If the batteries completely drain, you can connect a power bank to the USB port located at the bottom of the keypad. This will temporarily power the lock, allowing you to enter your code or use an RFID card to gain access.
Cleaning
Clean the keypad and lock body with a soft, dry cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners, solvents, or excessive moisture, as these can damage the electronic components or finish.
Troubleshooting
Common Issues and Solutions
- Lock does not respond:
- Check battery level. Replace batteries if low.
- Use emergency power via the USB port with a power bank.
- Cannot unlock with PIN/Card:
- Ensure the correct PIN is entered or the registered RFID card/fob is used.
- Verify the lock is not in keypad lockout mode (wait 2 minutes if 7 incorrect attempts were made).
- If in Dual Mode, ensure both PIN and card are used correctly in sequence.
- Confirm the card/fob is properly registered and not damaged.
- Lock does not latch:
- Check for any physical obstructions in the latch mechanism or receiver.
- Ensure the locking mechanism and latch receiver are correctly aligned during installation.
- If the issue persists, a mechanical failure may have occurred. Contact customer support.
- Keypad is unresponsive:
- Check battery level and replace if necessary.
- Ensure no debris or moisture is obstructing the buttons.
- Forgot Admin PIN:
- Perform a factory reset. Refer to the quick start guide for the specific button sequence (typically a 5-press sequence). Note: A factory reset will erase all programmed user data and revert the lock to its default settings.
