4. Setup
4.1 Physical Connection
- Connect the Handset: Plug one end of the coiled cord into the handset and the other end into the designated handset port on the phone unit.
- Connect to Network and Power (PoE): Connect an Ethernet cable from your network switch (with Power over Ethernet capability) to the LAN port on the back of the phone. The phone will power on automatically. If PoE is not available, use an approved power adapter (sold separately) and connect it to the power port.
- Optional: Connect to PC: If desired, connect a second Ethernet cable from the PC port on the phone to your computer.
4.2 Initial Configuration
Upon first boot-up, the phone will display a startup sequence. Follow the on-screen prompts to configure basic settings:
- Network Settings: The phone typically obtains an IP address via DHCP. If static IP is required, navigate to the network settings menu to configure it manually.
- SIP Account Registration: Enter your SIP account details (username, password, server address) provided by your VoIP service provider. Refer to your provider's documentation for specific parameters.
5. Operating Instructions
5.1 Phone Overview

- Display: The 5-inch color TFT display (480 x 272 pixels) shows call information, menus, and status indicators.
- Soft Keys: Context-sensitive buttons located directly below the display, their functions change based on the current screen.
- Programmable Keys: Five keys on each side of the display can be configured for speed dials, line appearances, or other functions.
- Numeric Keypad: Standard 0-9 keys for dialing numbers and entering text.
- Navigation Cluster: A circular pad with directional arrows and a central 'OK' button for menu navigation.

5.2 Basic Call Functions
- Making a Call:
- Pick up the handset or press the Speakerphone button.
- Dial the desired number using the numeric keypad.
- Press the Dial soft key or wait for automatic dialing.
- Answering a Call: When the phone rings, pick up the handset or press the Speakerphone button or the Answer soft key.
- Ending a Call: Place the handset back in the cradle or press the End Call soft key or the Speakerphone button.
- Mute: During a call, press the Mute button to mute your microphone. Press again to unmute.
- Volume Control: Use the dedicated volume buttons to adjust the handset, speakerphone, or ringer volume.
5.3 Advanced Call Functions
- Call Hold: During an active call, press the Hold soft key. To resume, press the Resume soft key.
- Call Transfer:
- During an active call, press the Transfer soft key. The current call is put on hold.
- Dial the number of the party you wish to transfer the call to.
- Once the second party answers (consulted transfer) or immediately (blind transfer), press Transfer again.
- Call Conference:
- During an active call, press the Conf (Conference) soft key. The current call is put on hold.
- Dial the number of the second party and wait for them to answer.
- Press the Conf soft key again to join all parties into a conference call.
- Voicemail Access: Press the dedicated Voicemail button or dial the voicemail access number provided by your service provider.
5.4 Directory and Settings
- Contacts/Directory: Access the phone's directory via the Directory soft key or menu option. You can add, edit, and search for contacts.
