1. Safety Instructions

Read all safety instructions carefully before using the NARWAL Freo Z10. Keep this manual for future reference.

General Safety

• Do not allow children to operate the robot. Supervise children and pets when the robot is operating.
• Ensure the robot is used indoors only.
• Remove power cords, small objects, and fragile items from the cleaning path to prevent entanglement or damage.
• Do not use the robot in areas with open flames or explosive materials.
• Avoid using the robot on wet surfaces or in standing water, except for its intended mopping function.

Electrical Safety

• Use only the original charging base and power adapter provided with the robot.
• Do not handle the power cord or charging base with wet hands.
• Inspect the power cord and plug for damage before each use. Do not use if damaged.
• Unplug the base station during lightning storms or when not in use for extended periods.

Battery Safety

• The robot contains a Lithium-Ion battery. Do not expose the battery to high temperatures or direct sunlight.
• Do not attempt to disassemble, repair, or modify the battery pack.
• Dispose of batteries according to local regulations.

4. Setup

4.1 Base Station Placement

1. Choose a location with good Wi-Fi signal, preferably near a power outlet.
2. Ensure there is at least 0.5 meters (1.6 feet) of clear space on both sides of the base station and 1.5 meters (5 feet) in front.
3. Place the base station on a hard, level surface. Do not place it on carpets or rugs.
4. Connect the power cord to the base station and plug it into a wall outlet.
5. If needed, attach the base station extension ramp for easier robot docking.

4.2 Robot Preparation and Initial Charge

1. Remove all protective films and packaging materials from the robot and base station.
2. Install the side brushes by pressing them onto their respective posts until they click into place.
3. Place the robot onto the charging contacts of the base station. Ensure the robot is properly aligned.
4. The robot will automatically power on and begin charging. Allow it to fully charge before first use (approximately 4-6 hours).

4.3 App Connection

1. Download the "Narwal Freo" app from your mobile device's app store.
2. Open the app and create an account or log in.
3. Follow the in-app instructions to add your NARWAL Freo Z10. This typically involves scanning a QR code on the robot or base station and connecting to the robot's temporary Wi-Fi network.
4. Note: The robot only supports 2.4GHz Wi-Fi networks. 5GHz Wi-Fi is not supported.

5. Operation

5.1 Starting a Cleaning Cycle

• Via App: Open the Narwal Freo app, select your robot, and tap "Start Cleaning." You can choose vacuum-only, mop-only, or vacuum & mop modes.
• Via Robot Button: Press the Start/Pause button on the robot once to begin a cleaning cycle. The robot will default to the last used cleaning mode.

The robot will automatically return to the base station to wash its mop pads during mopping cycles and to empty its dustbin as needed.

5.2 Cleaning Modes and Settings

Customize cleaning preferences through the Narwal Freo app:

• Vacuum Only: For dry debris and pet hair. Features 15,000 Pa Hyper Suction.
• Mop Only: For hard floors, using dual spinning and scrubbing mops.
• Vacuum & Mop: Simultaneous vacuuming and mopping.
• Freo Mode: Intelligent cleaning that adapts to dirt levels and floor types, including MopExtend and EdgeSwing for thorough edge cleaning.
• No-Go Zones/No-Mop Zones: Set virtual boundaries in the app to restrict the robot from certain areas.
• Carpet Boost: Automatically increases suction power on carpets during vacuuming. Mops will lift 12mm when a carpet is detected during mopping.

5.3 Voice Control

The NARWAL Freo Z10 is compatible with Alexa, Siri, and Google Home. Follow the instructions in your smart home app to link your Narwal account and enable voice commands.

• "Alexa, tell Narwal to start cleaning."
• "Hey Google, ask Narwal to go home."
• "Hey Siri, start cleaning with Narwal." (Requires Siri Shortcuts setup in the Narwal app)

6. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures optimal performance and extends the lifespan of your NARWAL Freo Z10.

6.1 Robot Maintenance

• Side Brushes: Check weekly for hair or debris. Remove and clean as needed. Replace every 3-6 months.
• Main Roller Brush: Check weekly for tangled hair. Use the cleaning tool provided to cut and remove hair. Replace every 6-12 months.

• Mop Pads: The base station automatically washes and dries mop pads. For deep cleaning, remove and hand wash or machine wash them. Replace every 1-3 months.
• Sensors: Wipe all sensors (cliff sensors, particle sensor, LiDAR sensor window) with a clean, dry cloth monthly.
• Charging Contacts: Clean the charging contacts on both the robot and base station with a dry cloth monthly.

6.2 Base Station Maintenance

• Clean/Dirty Water Tanks: Empty the dirty water tank after each mopping cycle. Refill the clean water tank with fresh water. Clean both tanks periodically to prevent mold or odors.
• Dust Bag: The base station can store dust for up to 120 days. Replace the dust bag when the app indicates it is full.
• Mop Washing Tray: The base station performs self-cleaning. Periodically remove and rinse the mop washing tray to remove accumulated debris.
• Detergent Dispenser: Refill the detergent tank as needed. Use only Narwal-approved detergent.
