5. Setup and Installation
This section outlines the steps for installing your TMEZON Wired Video Intercom System. It is recommended to test the system with the provided original cable before permanent installation.
5.1 Wiring Diagram (Conceptual)
The system uses a 4-wire connection between the outdoor unit and indoor monitors, and between multiple indoor monitors. Ensure correct polarity and secure connections.
- Wire 1: Audio
- Wire 2: Video
- Wire 3: Power (DC 12V)
- Wire 4: Ground
For extending wire distances up to 100-200 meters, use RVV4 (4 core wire), Cat5, or Cat6 cables. A 4-pin connector is supplied for this purpose.
5.2 Outdoor Unit Installation
- Choose Location: Select a suitable location near your entrance, typically at a height of 1.4-1.6 meters from the ground, avoiding direct sunlight or heavy rain exposure.
- Mount Rain Cover: Secure the provided rain cover to the wall using screws and wall plugs.
- Connect Wires: Route the 4-wire cable from the indoor monitor location to the outdoor unit. Connect the wires to the corresponding terminals on the outdoor unit. If connecting to an electronic lock, wire it according to the lock's instructions and the outdoor unit's lock control terminals.
- Mount Outdoor Unit: Carefully attach the outdoor unit to the rain cover, ensuring it is securely fastened.
5.3 Indoor Monitor Installation
- Choose Location: Select a convenient indoor location, typically near a power outlet.
- Mount Bracket: Secure the monitor mounting bracket to the wall using screws and wall plugs.
- Connect Wires: Connect the 4-wire cable from the outdoor unit to the main indoor monitor. If installing multiple monitors, connect them in series using 4-wire cables.
- Connect Power: Plug the power adapter into the indoor monitor's power input. Important: Do not connect the power adapter directly to the outdoor unit.
- Mount Monitor: Carefully attach the indoor monitor to its wall bracket.
5.4 Initial Testing
Before finalizing installation, perform a system test:
- Power on the indoor monitor.
- Press the call button on the outdoor unit. The indoor monitor should ring and display the outdoor camera feed.
- Speak into the outdoor unit and listen through the indoor monitor, and vice-versa, to confirm two-way audio.
- If an electronic lock is connected, test the remote unlock function from the indoor monitor.
- Test the RFID key fobs by swiping them over the outdoor unit's card reader to confirm unlock functionality.
