3. Setup and Connection

Proper setup is essential for safe and efficient operation. Follow these steps to connect your TUXING 3L Carbon Fiber Air Tank.

  1. Inspect the Tank and Valve: Before each use, visually inspect the tank, valve, and all connections for any signs of damage, wear, or debris. Ensure the M18x1.5 bottle screw thread is clean and free of obstructions.
  2. Attach the Dual Gauge Valve: Carefully screw the Dual Gauge Valve onto the tank's M18x1.5 thread. Hand-tighten firmly. Do not overtighten.
  3. Connect the Filling Hose: Attach the appropriate filling hose (with an 8mm male quick plug) to the valve's 8mm female quick plug. Ensure a secure connection.
  4. Connect to Air Source: Connect the other end of the filling hose to your PCP air compressor or other compatible air source.

4. Operating Instructions

This section details the steps for safely operating your TUXING 3L Carbon Fiber Air Tank for filling other devices.

  1. Pre-Operation Check: Ensure all connections are secure and the tank is in good condition. Verify that the pressure gauges on the Dual Gauge Valve are functioning correctly.
  2. Filling Procedure (from a compressor):
    • Connect the tank to a compatible PCP air compressor using the filling hose.
    • Slowly open the valve on the air tank.
    • Start the air compressor and monitor the pressure gauges. Fill the tank to the desired pressure, ensuring it does not exceed the maximum service pressure of 4500 PSI (30 MPa).
    • Once the desired pressure is reached, turn off the compressor.
    • Close the valve on the air tank.
    • Slowly open the release valve on the filling hose to bleed off residual pressure.
    • Disconnect the filling hose from the tank.
  3. Filling Procedure (from the 3L tank to a smaller cylinder):
    • Connect the smaller cylinder to the 3L tank's Dual Gauge Valve using an appropriate filling adapter and hose.
    • Ensure the valve on the smaller cylinder is closed.
    • Slowly open the valve on the 3L carbon fiber tank.
    • Slowly open the valve on the smaller cylinder to allow air transfer. Monitor the pressure gauges on both tanks.
    • Once the desired pressure is reached in the smaller cylinder, close its valve.
    • Close the valve on the 3L carbon fiber tank.
    • Slowly open the release valve on the filling adapter/hose to bleed off residual pressure.
    • Disconnect the smaller cylinder.

5. Maintenance

Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your TUXING 3L Carbon Fiber Air Tank.

  • Cleaning: Keep the exterior of the tank clean and free from dirt, oil, and other contaminants. Use a damp cloth for cleaning. Avoid harsh chemicals.
  • Valve Inspection: Periodically check the Dual Gauge Valve for leaks, damage, or wear on seals and O-rings. Replace any worn components immediately.
  • Storage: Store the tank in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight, heat sources, and corrosive materials. Ensure the valve is closed and protected.
  • Hydrostatic Testing: The tank has a design service life of 15 years and a re-test period of 3 years. Adhere to these intervals for hydrostatic testing by a certified facility to ensure continued safety.
  • Avoid Dropping: Never drop or subject the tank to severe impacts, as this can compromise its structural integrity.

6. Troubleshooting

This section provides solutions to common issues you might encounter with your air tank.

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Air LeakageLoose connections, damaged O-rings/seals, faulty valve.Tighten all connections. Inspect and replace O-rings/seals. If the valve is faulty, contact support for replacement.
Tank not fillingAir source not active, valve closed, blockage in hose/filter.Ensure compressor/air source is on. Open tank valve. Check filling hose and filter for blockages.
Pressure gauge not readingGauge malfunction, no pressure in tank.Verify if the tank contains air. If the tank has air and the gauge shows no reading, the gauge may be faulty and require replacement.
