5. Setup Guide

5.1 Initial Charging

Before installation, it is recommended to fully charge the camera's internal battery using a USB power adapter (not included) for optimal performance, especially if solar charging conditions are initially poor.

5.2 SD Card Installation

The camera supports a 64GB SD card for local storage. Locate the SD card slot, typically under a rubber cover on the camera body. Insert the SD card with the contacts facing the correct direction until it clicks into place. Ensure the cover is sealed properly to maintain weather resistance.

5.3 App Download and Account Creation

  1. Download the official KERUI security camera application from your smartphone's app store (iOS or Android).
  2. Open the app and follow the on-screen instructions to create a new user account.

5.4 Camera Pairing

  1. Power on the camera. It will enter pairing mode, indicated by a specific LED light pattern or voice prompt.
  2. In the app, select 'Add Device' or the '+' icon.
  3. Follow the app's instructions to connect the camera to your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network. (Note: 5GHz Wi-Fi is not supported).
  4. Once connected, you can name your camera and begin live viewing.

5.5 Mounting the Camera and Solar Panel

Choose a location that provides optimal sunlight exposure for the solar panel and a clear view for the camera. The camera and solar panel can be mounted together or separately.

  1. Mark Drilling Points: Use the mounting bracket as a template to mark the screw holes on the desired surface.
  2. Drill Holes: Drill pilot holes and insert wall anchors if mounting on masonry or drywall.
  3. Secure Brackets: Attach the camera and solar panel mounting brackets using the provided screws.
  4. Attach Camera and Panel: Secure the camera and solar panel to their respective brackets. Adjust the solar panel angle to maximize sun exposure.
  5. Connect Solar Panel: Plug the solar panel's charging cable into the camera's charging port.

6. Operating Instructions

6.1 Live View and Playback

Open the KERUI app to access the live feed from your camera. You can view recorded footage from the SD card or cloud storage through the app's playback function.

6.2 Pan, Tilt, and Zoom (PTZ) Control

The lower lens of the camera supports 350° horizontal (pan) and 90° vertical (tilt) rotation. Use the controls within the app to remotely adjust the camera's viewing angle. This allows for comprehensive coverage without blind spots.

6.3 Motion Detection and Alerts
