Tefal Easygliss Plus Steam Iron User Manual

Model: FV5751E0

Introduction

Thank you for choosing the Tefal Easygliss Plus Steam Iron. This manual provides essential information for the safe and efficient use, maintenance, and troubleshooting of your new appliance. Please read these instructions carefully before first use and keep them for future reference.

Setup

1. Unpacking

Carefully remove the iron and all accessories from the packaging. Retain the packaging for future storage or transport if needed. Ensure all components are present and undamaged.

2. Before First Use

Before using your iron for the first time, it is recommended to run it over an old piece of fabric to remove any manufacturing residues from the soleplate. This prevents staining your garments.

3. Filling the Water Tank

  1. Ensure the iron is unplugged from the power outlet.
  2. Open the water filling inlet.
  3. Fill the water tank with clean tap water up to the 'MAX' level indicator. Do not overfill. For optimal performance and to prolong the life of your iron, it is recommended to use demineralized or distilled water, especially in areas with hard water.
  4. Close the water filling inlet securely.

Operating

1. Temperature and Steam Settings

Plug the iron into a suitable power outlet. Adjust the thermostat dial to the desired temperature setting according to the fabric type. The indicator light will illuminate, indicating the iron is heating up. It will turn off when the set temperature is reached.

  • Low Temperature (•): Synthetics, Silk
  • Medium Temperature (••): Wool
  • High Temperature (•••): Cotton, Linen

For steam ironing, ensure the temperature setting is within the steam zone (usually indicated on the dial). The iron will produce continuous steam when the steam control is set to the desired level.

For dry ironing, set the steam control to the 'no steam' position. Adjust the temperature according to the fabric type.

4. Safety Precautions

  • Always unplug the iron when filling or emptying the water tank, and after each use.
  • Do not leave a hot iron unattended.
  • Keep the iron out of reach of children.
  • Do not touch the hot soleplate.
  • Never immerse the iron in water or any other liquid.

Maintenance

1. Cleaning the Soleplate

To clean the soleplate, allow the iron to cool completely. Wipe the soleplate with a damp cloth and a non-abrasive cleaner if necessary. Do not use abrasive pads or harsh chemicals as they can damage the soleplate coating.

2. Descaling / Anti-Calc System

The Tefal Easygliss Plus iron is equipped with an anti-calc system to reduce limescale build-up. For optimal performance, regularly perform the self-clean function as described in the full product manual (if available) or by following these general steps:

  1. Fill the water tank and heat the iron to maximum temperature.
  2. Unplug the iron and hold it over a sink.
  3. Activate the self-clean function (refer to specific button/lever on your model if present) to flush out scale particles.
  4. Repeat if necessary.

3. Storage

After use, unplug the iron and allow it to cool completely. Empty any remaining water from the tank. Store the iron in an upright position to prevent damage to the soleplate, in a dry and safe place.
