Operating Instructions

  1. Power On: Press the Power button to turn on the device.
  2. Immerse the Probe: Dip the probe end of the tester into the water sample you wish to measure. Ensure the probe is fully submerged.
  3. Read Measurement: Allow a few seconds for the reading to stabilize on the digital display. The primary reading will show hydrogen concentration (ppb/ppm), and the secondary reading will show temperature (℃/℉).
  4. Hold Function: To freeze the current reading on the display, press the HOLD/TEMP button. Press it again to release the hold and resume live readings.
  5. Temperature Unit Switch: While in live reading mode, a short press of the HOLD/TEMP button will toggle between Celsius (℃) and Fahrenheit (℉) temperature units.
  6. Power Off: Press the Power button again to turn off the device after use.

Calibration

The YY-400H features a MODE/CAL button for calibration. Regular calibration ensures the accuracy of your measurements. Refer to the specific calibration solution requirements for hydrogen testers.

  1. Prepare Calibration Solution: Obtain a standard hydrogen calibration solution (e.g., 1000ppb or 1.000ppm).
  2. Enter Calibration Mode: With the device powered on and the probe clean, immerse the probe into the calibration solution. Press and hold the MODE/CAL button until "CAL" appears on the display.
  3. Stabilize Reading: Allow the reading to stabilize. The device will automatically recognize the calibration solution.
  4. Confirm Calibration: Once stable, the device will indicate successful calibration (e.g., "END" or a stable reading matching the solution). Remove the probe and rinse with distilled water.
  5. Note: If calibration fails or readings are inconsistent, repeat the process or consider replacing the probe.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning the Probe: After each use, rinse the probe thoroughly with distilled water to prevent contamination and residue buildup. Do not use abrasive materials or strong chemicals.
  • Probe Storage: Store the probe with its protective cap on to keep it moist and prevent damage.
  • Probe Replacement: The modular probe system allows for easy replacement. To replace, unscrew the old probe counter-clockwise and screw in a new one clockwise until secure. Ensure the O-ring is properly seated to maintain waterproof integrity.
  • Battery Replacement: When the battery indicator appears on the display, replace the batteries. (Specific battery type and replacement instructions are not provided in the source data, refer to the physical manual for details.)
