5. Installation
The EWeLink WiFi Smart Circuit Breaker is designed for 35MM Din Rail installation.
- Power Disconnection: Before beginning installation, ensure that the main power supply to the circuit is completely disconnected at the service panel. Use a voltage tester to confirm that no power is present.
- Mounting: Snap the circuit breaker onto a standard 35MM Din Rail within your electrical panel or enclosure. Ensure it is securely fastened.
- Wiring:
- Connect the incoming live wire to the "IN" terminal (top).
- Connect the outgoing live wire to the "OUT" terminal (bottom) to supply power to your load.
- Ensure all screw-type terminals are tightened securely to prevent loose connections, which can cause overheating or arcing.
- Verification: Double-check all wiring connections for correctness and security.
- Power Restoration: Once installation is complete and verified, restore power at the main service panel.
It is highly recommended to consult a qualified electrician for installation to ensure compliance with electrical safety standards.
6. Setup (EWeLink App Connection)
This device connects to your Wi-Fi network (2.4GHz only) via the EWeLink application.
- Download EWeLink App: Download the EWeLink app from your smartphone's app store (iOS or Android).
- Register/Login: Open the app and register a new account or log in with an existing one.
- Enter Pairing Mode: With the circuit breaker powered on, press and hold the pairing button (refer to device diagram for exact location, usually a small button or the main switch itself if it has a press-and-hold function) until the Wi-Fi indicator light blinks rapidly. This indicates it's in pairing mode.
- Add Device in App: In the EWeLink app, tap the "+" icon to add a new device. Select "Quick Pairing" or the appropriate device type (e.g., "Circuit Breaker" or "Switch").
- Connect to Wi-Fi: Follow the on-screen prompts to select your 2.4GHz Wi-Fi network and enter the password. Ensure your smartphone is also connected to the same 2.4GHz network during pairing.
- Device Discovery: The app will search for and connect to the circuit breaker. Once connected, you can rename the device and assign it to a room.
- Firmware Update: Check for any available firmware updates within the app and install them to ensure optimal performance and security.
7. Operation
Once successfully paired with the EWeLink app, you can control and monitor the circuit breaker remotely.
- On/Off Switch: Tap the device icon in the EWeLink app to toggle the circuit breaker on or off. The physical switch on the device can also be used for manual control.
- Energy Metering: View real-time voltage (V), current (A), and power (W) readings within the app. The app also displays accumulated energy consumption (KWh).
- Timer/Schedule: Set up schedules for automatic on/off operations. This can include daily, weekly, or countdown timers.
- Current Limit: Access settings within the app to adjust the maximum current threshold. If the current exceeds this limit, the breaker will trip to protect the circuit.
- Voice Control: Link your EWeLink account to compatible voice assistants (e.g., Amazon Alexa, Google Assistant) to control the circuit breaker using voice commands.
- Share Control: Invite family members or other users to control the device through the app's sharing feature.
