4.2 Connecting to Devices

The monitor supports two primary connection methods:

4.2.1 USB-C Connection (Single Cable)

For devices with a full-featured USB-C port (supporting DisplayPort Alternate Mode and power delivery), you can use a single USB-C to USB-C cable for both video and power.

  1. Connect one end of the provided USB-C to USB-C cable to a USB-C port on your Yodoit PTM15 monitor.
  2. Connect the other end of the USB-C to USB-C cable to the full-featured USB-C port on your laptop, PC, or smartphone.

Note: Only full-featured USB-C ports can transmit video signals. Not all USB-C cables or ports support video transmission. Refer to your device's specifications.

For devices with an HDMI output and a standard USB-A port (or a separate power adapter), you will need two cables:

  1. Connect the Mini HDMI end of the provided Mini HDMI to HDMI cable to the Mini-HDMI port on your Yodoit PTM15 monitor.
  2. Connect the standard HDMI end of the cable to the HDMI output port on your device (e.g., laptop, game console).
  3. Connect the USB-C end of the provided USB-A to USB-C cable to a USB-C port on your Yodoit PTM15 monitor.
  4. Connect the USB-A end of the cable to a USB-A port on your device for power, or to a 5V/2A (minimum) USB power adapter (not included).

Note: If the power supplied by your device's USB-A port is insufficient, the monitor may flicker or not power on. In such cases, use a dedicated power adapter.

6. Maintenance

  • Cleaning the Screen: Gently wipe the screen with a soft, lint-free cloth. For stubborn marks, dampen the cloth slightly with water or a screen-cleaning solution. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive materials.
  • Cleaning the Casing: Use a soft, dry cloth to clean the monitor casing.
  • Storage: When not in use, store the monitor in a cool, dry place. Consider using a protective sleeve or case, especially when traveling, to prevent scratches or damage to the screen.
  • Avoid Liquids: Keep the monitor away from liquids and excessive moisture.
  • Handle with Care: Avoid dropping or subjecting the monitor to strong impacts.

7. Troubleshooting

7.1 No Signal / Black Screen

  • Check Cable Connections: Ensure all cables (USB-C, HDMI) are securely connected to both the monitor and the source device.
  • Verify USB-C Compatibility: If using a single USB-C cable, confirm that your device's USB-C port supports video output (DisplayPort Alternate Mode).
  • Check Power Supply: Ensure the monitor is receiving sufficient power. If using HDMI, connect the USB-A to USB-C cable to a reliable power source (e.g., a wall adapter or a powered USB port). Insufficient power can cause flickering or no display.
  • Select Correct Input Source: Use the OSD menu to manually select the correct input source (USB-C or HDMI).
  • Restart Devices: Restart both the monitor and the connected device.

7.2 Flickering Screen

  • Insufficient Power: This is a common cause. Ensure the monitor is receiving adequate power, especially when using HDMI. Try connecting the USB-A to USB-C power cable to a dedicated wall adapter.
  • Cable Quality: Use the provided cables or high-quality, certified cables.
  • Refresh Rate: Check your device's display settings and ensure the refresh rate is compatible with the monitor (60Hz).

7.3 No Sound from Built-in Speakers

  • Volume Settings: Check the volume level on both the monitor (via OSD menu) and your connected device.
  • Audio Output Selection: Ensure the Yodoit PTM15 is selected as the audio output device in your computer's sound settings.
  • Cable Type: If using HDMI, ensure the HDMI cable is transmitting audio. USB-C connections typically transmit audio automatically.
