Important Safety Instructions

When using electrical appliances, basic safety precautions should always be followed to reduce the risk of fire, electric shock, and injury to persons. Read all instructions carefully.

• Do not touch hot surfaces. Use handles or knobs.
• To protect against electrical shock, do not immerse cord, plugs, or the main unit in water or other liquid.
• Close supervision is necessary when any appliance is used by or near children.
• Unplug from outlet when not in use and before cleaning. Allow to cool before putting on or taking off parts.
• Do not operate any appliance with a damaged cord or plug, or after the appliance malfunctions or has been damaged in any manner.

• Do not use outdoors.

Setup and First Use

1. Unpacking: Carefully remove the appliance and all accessories from the packaging. Retain packaging for future storage or transport.
2. Initial Cleaning: Before first use, wipe the grill plate and hot pot interior with a damp cloth. Wash the glass lid and grease collector with warm, soapy water, then rinse and dry thoroughly. Ensure all parts are completely dry before assembly.
3. Placement: Place the appliance on a stable, flat, and heat-resistant surface, away from walls or flammable materials. Ensure adequate ventilation around the unit.
4. Grease Collector: Insert the pull-out grease collector into its designated slot beneath the grill section.
5. Power Connection: Ensure the control dials are in the "OFF" position before plugging the power cord into a standard 110V electrical outlet.

Operating Instructions

The Stariver Electric Hot Pot and Grill features independent temperature controls for each cooking zone.

Using the Hot Pot:

1. Fill the hot pot section with your desired broth or liquid, ensuring it does not exceed the maximum fill line.
2. Place the glass lid on the hot pot.
3. Turn the "Hot Pot" control dial clockwise to your desired heat setting (from "Warm" to "High"). The indicator light will illuminate.
4. Allow the broth to heat up. Once boiling, you can add ingredients for simmering.

Using the Grill:

1. Lightly brush the grill plate with a small amount of cooking oil, if desired, to prevent sticking.
2. Turn the "Grill" control dial clockwise to your desired heat setting (from "Warm" to "High"). The indicator light will illuminate.
3. Allow the grill plate to preheat for 5-10 minutes.
4. Place food items directly onto the hot grill surface for cooking.

Dual Functionality:

You can use both the hot pot and grill functions simultaneously. Adjust each control dial independently to manage the cooking temperature for each section.

Care and Maintenance

Proper cleaning and maintenance will extend the life of your appliance.

1. Cool Down: Always unplug the appliance from the power outlet and allow it to cool completely before cleaning.
2. Empty Grease Collector: Remove and empty the pull-out grease collector. Wash it with warm, soapy water, rinse, and dry.
3. Remove Residue: For the hot pot and grill surfaces, use a paper towel or soft cloth to wipe away any food debris or excess oil.
4. Soak (Optional): If stubborn residue remains, you may add a small amount of hot water to the hot pot section and let it soak for 5-10 minutes to loosen grease.
5. Clean Surfaces: Use a soft sponge or cloth with mild dish soap and warm water to clean the non-stick surfaces of the hot pot and grill. Avoid abrasive cleaners or metallic scouring pads, as these can damage the non-stick coating.
6. Wipe Exterior: Wipe the exterior of the appliance with a damp cloth. Do not immerse the main unit in water or any other liquid.
7. Rinse and Dry: Rinse the cleaned surfaces with a clean, damp cloth. Ensure all parts are thoroughly dried before storing or next use.
8. Storage: Store the appliance in a dry place.
