5. Setup
Follow these steps to set up your Olympia TS10 POS system:
- Unpack the Device: Carefully remove the TS10 unit and all accessories from the packaging.
- Connect Power: Plug the power adapter into the DC input port on the back of the TS10, then plug the adapter into a suitable power outlet.
- Initial Boot-up: Press the power button to turn on the device. The system will boot up, displaying the Android 11 operating system.
- Basic Configuration: Follow the on-screen prompts to select your preferred language, set the date and time, and configure network settings (Wi-Fi or LAN).
- Connect Peripherals (Optional):

- Merchandise Groups: The system supports up to 100 merchandise groups. Access the programming menu to define and categorize your products.
- PLUs (Price Look-Up Units): Manage up to 100,000 PLUs. Each PLU can be assigned to a merchandise group and configured with price, name, and other relevant data.
- User Management: Create and manage up to 100 operator accounts. Assign different access levels and permissions for optimal personalization and control.
- Table Management: For gastronomy, the system can manage up to 5,000 tables, allowing for efficient order taking and billing.
6.3. Processing Sales
- Log In: Operators log in using their assigned credentials.
- Select Items: Use the touchscreen to select merchandise groups and then individual PLUs. Alternatively, use the integrated scanner to quickly add items by scanning their barcodes.
- Adjust Quantity/Price: Modify quantities or apply discounts as needed.
- Process Payment: Select the payment method (cash, card, etc.). The system supports offline payment processing.
- Finalize Transaction: Complete the sale. A receipt will be printed (if a printer is connected), and the customer display will show the transaction details.

The integrated USB TSE (Technical Security Device) solution ensures that all transaction data is securely recorded and compliant with legal requirements (e.g., in Germany). The system automatically handles the TSE processes in the background.
