Tuscany Toilet Hi-Speed Fill Valves

Model: 606582757570 | Brand: NuFlush

Introduction

The NuFlush Tuscany Toilet Hi-Speed Fill Valves are designed to efficiently refill your toilet tank after each flush. This 2-pack of new generation fill valves is suitable for both 1- and 2-piece toilets that feature a bottom water feed with a standard 7/8-inch pipe connection. These valves offer a more efficient and easier-to-install alternative to traditional ballcock mechanisms, ensuring reliable toilet operation.

Setup and Installation

Before beginning installation, ensure your water supply to the toilet is turned off and the tank is empty. These fill valves are designed for universal fit in most toilets with a 7/8-inch pipe connection.

Installation Steps:

  1. Turn off Water Supply: Locate the shut-off valve behind or near the toilet and turn it clockwise until the water flow stops. Flush the toilet to empty the tank.
  2. Remove Old Fill Valve: Disconnect the water supply line from the bottom of the old fill valve. Unscrew the mounting nut from underneath the tank and remove the old fill valve.
  3. Prepare New Fill Valve: Adjust the height of the new Tuscany fill valve to match the height of your toilet's overflow tube. The valve is adjustable from 9 to 13 inches.
  4. Install New Fill Valve: Insert the new fill valve into the hole at the bottom of the toilet tank. Ensure the rubber washer is properly seated inside the tank.
  5. Secure the Valve: From underneath the tank, hand-tighten the mounting nut onto the threaded shank of the fill valve. Do not overtighten.
  6. Connect Refill Tube: Attach the small refill tube from the top of the fill valve to the overflow tube of the flush valve. Ensure it is securely placed.
  7. Reconnect Water Supply: Reconnect the water supply line to the bottom of the new fill valve. Hand-tighten, then use a wrench for a final quarter-turn, being careful not to overtighten.
  8. Restore Water Supply: Slowly turn the water supply valve counter-clockwise to restore water flow to the toilet. Check for leaks around the connections.
  9. Adjust Water Level: Allow the tank to fill. The water level should be approximately 1 inch below the top of the overflow tube. If necessary, fine-tune the water level by adjusting the float mechanism on the fill valve.

Operation

The Tuscany Hi-Speed Fill Valve operates automatically. After each flush, as the water level in the toilet tank drops, the float mechanism within the fill valve will activate, opening the water inlet. Water will then rapidly flow into the tank until the pre-set water level is reached, at which point the float will rise and shut off the water supply. The small refill tube simultaneously directs a small amount of water into the toilet bowl to replenish the trap seal.

Maintenance

  • Regular Inspection: Periodically inspect the fill valve for any signs of wear, cracks, or mineral buildup, especially if you have hard water.
  • Cleaning: If mineral deposits accumulate, turn off the water supply, remove the fill valve, and gently clean it with a soft brush and a mild descaling solution. Rinse thoroughly before reinstallation.
  • Check for Leaks: Regularly check for any leaks around the base of the fill valve or the water supply line connection. Tighten connections if necessary, but do not overtighten.
  • Water Level Adjustment: Ensure the water level in the tank remains consistent and at the appropriate height (approximately 1 inch below the overflow tube) for optimal flushing performance.

Troubleshooting

ProblemPossible CauseSolution
Toilet runs continuously or cycles on and off.Water level too high, faulty flapper, or debris in fill valve.Adjust water level lower. Check and replace flapper if worn. Turn off water, remove fill valve cap, and clear any debris from the valve mechanism.
Slow tank fill.Partially closed shut-off valve, clogged fill valve inlet, or low water pressure.Ensure shut-off valve is fully open. Turn off water, disconnect supply line, and check for debris in the fill valve inlet screen. Consult a plumber for low water pressure.
Water level in bowl is too low.Refill tube is disconnected or clogged.Ensure the refill tube is securely connected to the overflow pipe and is not kinked or clogged.
Leaking at base of fill valve.Loose mounting nut or worn washer.Turn off water, tighten the mounting nut underneath the tank. If leak persists, replace the rubber washer.
