1. Introduction

The Phillips Aruma Digital Smart Lock offers a secure and convenient access solution for homes and offices. This lock features multiple entry methods including fingerprint, password, proximity card, and mechanical key. Designed for both metal and wooden doors, it accommodates door thicknesses from 35 mm to 80 mm and adjustable backsets of 60 mm or 70 mm. It is suitable for both left and right-hand hinged doors. 4. Installation Guide

Please read these instructions carefully before beginning installation. It is recommended to install the lock with the door open. Do not close your door until the batteries are inserted and the lock is fully tested.

Key Installation Steps:

1. Prepare the Door: Ensure your door meets the specified thickness (35-80mm) and bore hole backset (60mm or 70mm).
2. Install the Latch Bolt: Insert the latch bolt into the door edge and secure it with screws. Ensure the spindle hole is correctly oriented (squarely straight to the ground).
3. Adjust Handle Direction (Front Panel): If necessary, adjust the direction of the handle on the front panel by rotating it to the left or right.
4. Install Front Panel: Slide the lock spindle and wire connector through the door holes. Secure the front panel to the door.
5. Install Mounting Plate: Slide the mounting plate over the spindle and wire connector, threading the wire connector through the designated hole. Secure the mounting plate with screws appropriate for your door thickness.
6. Connect Wires: Connect the wire connector from the front panel to the corresponding port on the back panel.
7. Adjust Handle Direction (Back Panel): If necessary, adjust the direction of the handle on the back panel by rotating it to the left or right.
8. Install Back Panel: Carefully align the back panel with the mounting plate and secure it with screws.
9. Install Batteries: Open the battery compartment on the back panel and insert 4 AA alkaline batteries, ensuring correct polarity. Close the battery box.

5. Operating Instructions

The Phillips Aruma Digital Smart Lock offers multiple ways to unlock your door:

5.1. Fingerprint Access

1. Place your registered finger on the fingerprint sensor.
2. The lock will verify your fingerprint and unlock if authorized.

5.2. Password Access

1. Touch the keypad to activate it.
2. Enter your registered password followed by the '#' key.
3. The lock will verify the password and unlock if authorized.

5.3. Proximity Card Access

1. Place your registered proximity card against the card reader area on the lock.
2. The lock will read the card and unlock if authorized.

5.4. Mechanical Key Access

1. Insert the mechanical key into the keyhole located at the bottom of the handle.
2. Turn the key to unlock the door. This method is primarily for emergency use.

5.5. Auto-Lock Setting

The auto-lock function is disabled by default. To enable or configure it:

1. Press the 'X' button twice to activate the keypad.
2. Enter your master PIN code and press the '✓' button once.
3. Press '7' to enter the auto-lock setting menu.
4. Choose your desired auto-lock delay:
   • Press '1' then '✓' to disable auto-lock.
   • Press '2' then '✓' for 30 seconds delay.
   • Press '3' then '✓' for 60 seconds delay.
   • Press '4' then '✓' for 120 seconds delay.
   • Press '5' then '✓' for 180 seconds delay.

6. Maintenance

6.1. Battery Replacement

When the batteries are low, the lock will provide an audible or visual alert. Replace all four AA alkaline batteries promptly to ensure continuous operation. Use the emergency 5V port with a power bank if the batteries die completely before replacement.

6.2. Cleaning

Clean the lock's exterior with a soft, damp cloth. Avoid using abrasive cleaners or solvents that could damage the finish or electronic components.

7. Troubleshooting

• Lock not responding: Check battery levels. If batteries are dead, use the emergency 5V port or mechanical key.
• Fingerprint not recognized: Ensure your finger is clean and dry. Try re-registering your fingerprint if issues persist.
• Password not working: Double-check the entered password. Ensure the keypad is active.
• Proximity card not working: Ensure the card is correctly placed against the reader. Try re-registering the card.
• Handle feels loose: Check and tighten all mounting screws. Refer to the installation guide for proper assembly.
