4.1. Controls and Interfaces

• Power Switch: Turns the device on/off.
• Mode Button:
  • Click: Switch between BT (Classic Bluetooth) and Broadcast RX modes.
  • Long press for 1 second: Enter Broadcast TX mode.
• Audio Source Input Switch Button (In Broadcast TX mode):
  • Click: Switch between BT/USB/AUX/MIC audio input sources.

5. Setup

5.1. Charging the Device

Before first use, fully charge the device.

1. Connect the provided USB-C charging cable to the USB 5V Charging / Type-C Sound Card Interface on the device.
2. Connect the other end of the cable to a standard USB power adapter (DC 5V, 1000mA recommended) or a computer's USB port.
3. The charging indicator light will illuminate during charging and turn off when fully charged.

5.2. Powering On/Off

• To Power On: Slide the Power Switch to the "ON" position. The indicator light will flash.
• To Power Off: Slide the Power Switch to the "OFF" position. The indicator light will turn off.

6. Operating Modes

The eppfun device supports two primary operating modes: Classic Bluetooth (BT/LE) and Broadcast (Auracast). The device remembers the last used mode.

6.1. Classic Bluetooth Mode (BT/LE)

This mode allows for traditional one-to-one Bluetooth connections, functioning as either a receiver (RX) or a transmitter (TX).

6.1.1. Classic Bluetooth Receiver (RX)

In RX mode, the device receives audio from a Bluetooth-enabled source (e.g., smartphone, tablet) and outputs it via the 3.5mm AUX Output.

1. Ensure the device is powered on and in Classic Bluetooth RX mode (indicated by the BT RX light). If not, click the Mode Button until BT RX is selected.
2. Long press the Multi-Function Button for 1 second to enter pairing mode. The indicator light will flash rapidly.
3. On your audio source device, enable Bluetooth and search for "eppfun [Model Name/ID]".
4. Select the device to pair. Once connected, the indicator light will become solid.
5. Connect your headphones or speakers to the 3.5mm AUX Output Interface of the eppfun device.
6. Play audio on your source device.

6.1.2. Classic Bluetooth Transmitter (TX)

In TX mode, the device transmits audio from a non-Bluetooth source (e.g., TV, PC via AUX/USB) to a Bluetooth-enabled receiver (e.g., Bluetooth headphones, speaker).

1. Ensure the device is powered on and in Classic Bluetooth TX mode (indicated by the BT TX light). If not, click the Mode Button until BT TX is selected.
2. Connect your audio source to the eppfun device using either:
   • 3.5mm AUX/MIC Input Interface (for analog audio).
   • USB-C port (for digital audio from a PC/console acting as a sound card).
3. Long press the Multi-Function Button for 1 second to enter pairing mode. The indicator light will flash rapidly.
4. Put your Bluetooth headphones or speaker into pairing mode.
5. The eppfun device will automatically search and connect to nearby Bluetooth receiving devices. Once connected, the indicator light will become solid.
6. Play audio from your source device.

6.2. Broadcast Mode (Auracast LE Audio)

Broadcast mode enables one-to-many audio sharing, where one transmitter can send audio to multiple Auracast-compatible receivers simultaneously.

6.2.1. Broadcast Transmitter (TX)

In Broadcast TX mode, the device transmits audio to multiple Auracast receivers. This is ideal for scenarios like tour guides, silent discos, or shared listening.

1. Ensure the device is powered on. Long press the Mode Button for 1 second to enter Broadcast TX mode (indicated by the Broadcast TX light).
2. Connect your audio source to the eppfun device using BT, USB, AUX, or MIC input. Use the Audio Source Input Switch Button to select the desired input.
   • MIC Input: The device has a built-in microphone. For external microphones, connect to the 3.5mm AUX/MIC Input Interface.
3. The device will begin broadcasting audio.
4. Ensure your receiving devices (e.g., other eppfun units in Broadcast RX mode, Auracast-compatible headphones) are set to receive Auracast broadcasts.

6.2.2. Broadcast Receiver (RX)

In Broadcast RX mode, the device receives audio from an Auracast transmitter and outputs it via the 3.5mm AUX Output.

1. Ensure the device is powered on. Click the Mode Button until Broadcast RX is selected (indicated by the Broadcast RX light).
2. Connect your headphones or speakers to the 3.5mm AUX Output Interface.
3. The device will automatically scan for available Auracast broadcasts.
4. Once a broadcast is detected, the device will connect and play the audio.
5. Use the Up/Down buttons to adjust volume. Click the Multi-Function Button to mute/unmute.

7. USB Sound Card Functionality

The eppfun device can function as a USB sound card, providing high-quality digital audio input from a computer or compatible device.

1. Connect the eppfun device to your computer's USB port using the USB-C cable.
2. The computer should automatically recognize the device as an audio output/input device. No drivers are typically required.
3. In Broadcast TX mode, select USB as the audio input source using the Audio Source Input Switch Button.
4. The digital audio from your computer will then be transmitted wirelessly via Broadcast or Classic Bluetooth TX mode.
