Introduction
This manual provides essential instructions for the safe and efficient operation of your KAYOTOM M12 4G PoC Two-Way Radio. Please read this manual thoroughly before using the device and retain it for future reference.

Setup Guide
Follow these steps to prepare your KAYOTOM M12 radio for first use:
- Install Battery: Insert the battery into the designated compartment on the back of the radio. Ensure it clicks into place securely.
- Secure Battery Screws: Use the provided screwdriver to fasten the battery screws, ensuring the battery is firmly attached.
- SIM Card Installation: Verify that the SIM card is properly inserted into its slot. If not, carefully insert it as shown in the video.
- Install Detachable Antenna: Screw the detachable antenna onto the top connector of the radio until it is finger-tight.
- Power On: Long press the power button until the screen illuminates and displays 'Welcome'.
- Network Adaptation: Allow 1-2 minutes for the radio to adapt to the network. The device is ready for use once connected.

Operating Instructions
Basic Communication (PTT)
Once the radio is powered on and connected to the network, you can initiate communication:
- Push-to-Talk (PTT): Press and hold the PTT key on the side of the radio to transmit your voice. Release the key to listen.
- The radio utilizes a nationwide cellular 4G LTE data network for clear voice transmission across urban and remote areas.
- Advanced wind noise and noise reduction suppression technology ensures clear communication even in noisy environments.
Volume Control
Rotate the top knob to adjust the volume. Rotate left to increase volume, and rotate right to decrease volume.
Group and Single Calls
The radio supports both group and single calls. Use the menu buttons (orange menu/enter, up, down) to navigate and select your desired call type (Group or Member) from the display.
Integrated Lighting Features
Your radio is equipped with multiple lighting functions:
- LED Light: Long press the designated button to activate the powerful LED light. This can be adjusted for strong light, low light, or burst flash.
- Ultraviolet (UV) Ray: Activate the UV light for specific applications like checking for authenticity.
- Infrared (IR) Lamp: Activate the IR lamp for specialized uses.

Maintenance
Charging the Battery
The radio is equipped with a powerful rechargeable lithium-ion battery. Charge the device using the provided Type-C charging cable. A full charge provides up to 7 days of standby time.
Cleaning
Wipe the radio with a soft, damp cloth. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners. Ensure all ports are closed when cleaning to maintain water resistance.
Storage
Store the radio in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures when not in use for extended periods.
Troubleshooting
- No Connection / Cannot Communicate:
Ensure the SIM card is properly inserted and restart the device. Wait 1-2 minutes for network adaptation. If issues persist, verify SIM card activation with your provider. - Device Not Turning On:
Check if the battery is correctly installed and charged. Long press the power button for several seconds. - Poor Audio Quality:
Ensure the antenna is securely attached. Move to an area with better cellular signal. The radio features noise reduction technology, but extreme conditions may still affect clarity. - Unable to Join Group:
If you have purchased additional radios and need them in the same group, please contact customer support with the account number on your SIM card.
