4. Setup and Installation

The magicplux range hood offers versatile installation options: ducted or ductless (recirculating). Ensure you have the necessary tools and follow local building codes.

4.1 Dimensions and Planning

Before installation, carefully measure your kitchen space to ensure proper fit and clearance. The adjustable chimney allows for flexible height adjustments.

4.2 Ducted vs. Ductless Installation

Choose the appropriate ventilation method for your kitchen. Ducted installation vents air outside, while ductless recirculates filtered air back into the kitchen (requires charcoal filters, Model CF-109, sold separately).

4.3 General Installation Steps

  1. Preparation: Ensure the mounting surface is structurally sound. Locate the electrical supply and ventilation exit point (for ducted).
  2. Mounting Bracket: Securely attach the mounting bracket to the wall according to the provided template.
  3. Hood Installation: Carefully lift and hang the range hood onto the mounting bracket. Secure it with additional screws as instructed.
  4. Ducting/Filters:
    • Ducted: Connect the exhaust duct to the range hood outlet and route it to the exterior vent. Ensure all connections are sealed.
    • Ductless: Install the charcoal filters (Model CF-109) onto the motor housing.
  5. Chimney Installation: Install the upper and lower chimney sections, adjusting their height as needed to cover the ducting/motor.
  6. Electrical Connection: Connect the range hood to a grounded electrical outlet.
  7. Testing: Turn on the power and test all functions (fan speeds, lights).

  3. Dry and Reinstall: Allow filters to dry completely before reinstalling them into the range hood.

6.2 Cleaning Exterior Surfaces

Clean the stainless steel exterior with a soft cloth and a non-abrasive cleaner designed for stainless steel. Avoid harsh chemicals or abrasive pads.
