5. Setup Guide

The ASRock DeskMeet X600 is a barebone system, requiring the installation of a CPU, RAM, and storage devices. Follow these steps carefully.

5.1 Component Installation

The DeskMeet X600 features a drawer chassis design for easy access to internal components. Remove one screw at the bottom to pull out the motherboard tray.

5.1.1 CPU Installation

Install your AMD AM5 Ryzen processor into the motherboard socket. Ensure correct orientation and secure the retention arm.

Install the CPU cooler. Note that the DeskMeet X600 supports CPU coolers up to 54mm in height.

5.1.2 RAM Installation

Insert DDR5 memory modules into the DIMM slots. Ensure they are fully seated by pressing down until the clips lock into place.

The DeskMeet X600 supports up to four storage devices: 1x Blazing M.2 (PCIe Gen5 x4), 1x Hyper M.2 (PCIe Gen4 x4), and 2x SATA 6Gb/s ports for 2.5-inch or 3.5-inch drives.

5.3 BIOS Update (Flashback)

The DeskMeet X600 features BIOS Flashback, allowing you to update the BIOS without a CPU, RAM, or graphics card installed. This is crucial for compatibility with new generation CPUs.

1. Download the latest BIOS file from the ASRock official website for your specific model (DeskMeet X600).
2. Prepare a USB drive (FAT32 formatted, at least 32GB) and rename the downloaded BIOS file to "PSPBios.img".
3. Unplug the power cable from the DeskMeet X600, then plug it back in.
4. Insert the prepared USB drive into the designated BIOS Flashback USB port (usually marked).
5. Press and hold the BIOS Flashback button for approximately three seconds until the LED light starts flashing.
6. The LED will continue to flash during the update process. Once the LED stops flashing, the update is complete, and the system will restart.

After successful assembly and BIOS update, connect your monitor(s), keyboard, mouse, and other peripherals. Power on the system. You will need to install an operating system (e.g., Windows 10, Windows 11) to use your mini-PC.
