1. Introduction
The BoxWave USB-C to A PortChanger is a compact adapter designed to convert a USB Type-C port into a standard USB Type-A port. This allows for expanded connectivity, enabling devices with a USB-C port, such as the Therabody Theragun Mini, to connect with various USB-A peripherals. This manual provides guidance on the proper use and care of your PortChanger adapters.

The PortChanger adapters are designed for simple plug-and-play functionality. No software installation is required.

- Connect Adapter: Insert the USB Type-C end of the PortChanger adapter into your device's USB Type-C port. Ensure it is fully seated.
- Connect Peripheral: Insert the USB Type-A connector of your peripheral into the USB Type-A port of the PortChanger adapter.
- Verify Connection: Your device should now recognize the connected peripheral.

4. Operating Instructions
The PortChanger adapter facilitates various functions depending on the connected peripheral and the capabilities of your host device.
- Data Transfer: Connect a USB flash drive or external hard drive to transfer files between the storage device and your USB-C enabled device.
- Peripheral Connection: Connect USB-A keyboards, mice, game controllers, or other standard USB peripherals to enhance the functionality of your USB-C device.
- Charging (Limited): While primarily for data and peripheral connection, some devices may draw limited power through the adapter for charging small accessories. This adapter is not designed for high-speed device charging.

5. Maintenance
To ensure the longevity and optimal performance of your BoxWave PortChanger adapters, follow these simple maintenance guidelines:
- Cleaning: Use a soft, dry, lint-free cloth to gently wipe the exterior of the adapter. Avoid using liquid cleaners or abrasive materials.
- Storage: Store the adapters in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures. The included strap attachment can be used to secure them to a keychain or other items to prevent loss.
- Handling: Avoid bending or twisting the adapter excessively. Always grasp the connector housing when plugging or unplugging, rather than pulling on any attached cables or the adapter body itself.
- Moisture: Keep the adapters away from water and other liquids.
6. Troubleshooting
If you encounter issues with your PortChanger adapter, consider the following troubleshooting steps:
- Adapter Not Recognized:
- Ensure the adapter is fully inserted into the USB-C port of your device.
- Ensure the peripheral (e.g., flash drive, mouse) is fully inserted into the USB-A port of the adapter.
- Try connecting the adapter to a different USB-C port on your device, if available.
- Test the adapter with a different USB-A peripheral to rule out an issue with the original peripheral.
- Test the peripheral directly with a device that has a native USB-A port, if possible, to confirm the peripheral is functional.
- Data Transfer Issues:
- Verify that your device supports USB On-The-Go (OTG) functionality, which is required for direct connection to storage devices.
- Check the file system of your storage device (e.g., FAT32, exFAT, NTFS) for compatibility with your host device.
- Ensure there is sufficient power for external hard drives; some may require external power not supplied by the adapter.
- Intermittent Connection:
- Check for any physical damage to the adapter or the ports on your devices.
- Ensure connections are secure and free from dust or debris.
