3. Setup
3.1 Camera Installation
- Front Camera Placement: Choose a location on your windshield that does not obstruct your view, typically behind the rearview mirror. Clean the area thoroughly before attaching the mounting bracket.
- Rear Camera Placement: Mount the rear camera on your rear windshield, ensuring a clear view.
- Power Connection: Connect the power cable to the front dash cam and route it to your vehicle's power outlet (e.g., cigarette lighter). For 72-hour parking mode functionality, a hardwire kit (sold separately) is required to connect directly to your vehicle's fuse box.
- Rear Camera Connection: Connect the rear camera to the front dash cam using the provided cable. Route the cable neatly along the vehicle's interior trim.
3.2 App Installation and Connection
- Download the DDPAI App: Search for "DDPAI" in your smartphone's app store (iOS or Android) and download the official application.
- Connect to Dash Cam: Turn on your vehicle's ignition to power on the dash cam. Open the DDPAI app, select "Add Device," and follow the on-screen instructions to connect to the dash cam's built-in 5GHz WiFi network. The default WiFi name and password can be found on the dash cam or in the quick start guide.
- Initial Setup: Once connected, you can configure settings such as time zone, video resolution, G-sensor sensitivity, and parking mode options through the app.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Basic Operation
- Automatic Recording: The dash cam automatically begins recording when powered on.
- Loop Recording: Older files are overwritten by new recordings when the storage is full, ensuring continuous recording. Important footage can be locked to prevent overwriting.
- Video Playback: Access recorded videos directly through the DDPAI app. You can view, download, and manage files on your smartphone.

4.2 Advanced Features
- Radar AI-Powered Motion Detection & 72-Hour Parking Mode:
The N5 Dual offers advanced parking surveillance. In addition to G-sensor and time-lapse modes, the radar motion detection feature activates recording when movement is detected around your parked vehicle. This allows for up to 72 hours of monitoring with energy-saving technology, protecting your car battery via low-voltage cutoff. A hardwire kit is required for this feature.

5. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Regularly clean the camera lenses with a soft, lint-free cloth to ensure clear recordings. Do not use abrasive cleaners.
- Firmware Updates: Check for and install firmware updates via the DDPAI app to ensure optimal performance and access to new features.
- Storage Management: Periodically review and back up important footage. While loop recording manages space, manually deleting unnecessary files can free up space and reduce wear on the storage.
- Temperature: Avoid exposing the dash cam to extreme temperatures for prolonged periods, as this can affect battery life and component longevity.
6. Troubleshooting
| Problem | Possible Cause / Solution |
|---|---|
| Dash cam does not power on. | Check power cable connection. Ensure vehicle's power outlet is functioning. Try a different power source. |
| Recording stops unexpectedly. | Storage may be full (if loop recording is off or locked files occupy too much space). Check TF card health. Format the TF card if necessary. |
| Cannot connect to DDPAI App via WiFi. | Ensure dash cam is powered on. Check WiFi settings on your phone. Restart both the dash cam and your phone. Ensure you are connecting to the correct DDPAI WiFi network. |
| Video quality is poor or blurry. | Clean the camera lenses. Ensure the protective film has been removed from the lenses. Check video resolution settings in the app. |
| Parking mode not working. | Ensure a hardwire kit is properly installed and connected to a constant power source. Verify parking mode settings in the app. |
