1. Introduction

This manual provides detailed instructions for the setup, operation, and maintenance of your XTU Wireless Chime (Model Chime 09). This device is designed to work exclusively with XTU J7, J9, J9 Plus, and J10 video doorbells, providing an audible alert when your doorbell is pressed. It is not compatible with doorbells from other brands.

  • 3 x AAA Batteries

3. Product Overview

Familiarize yourself with the components and controls of your XTU Wireless Chime.

  • Indicator Light: Displays red or blue to indicate status.
  • Settings Button: Used for pairing and advanced configurations.
  • Volume Button: Adjusts the chime's sound level.
  • Ringing Tone Button: Selects from available chime melodies.
  • Battery Compartment: Houses three AAA batteries.

4. Setup

4.1 Battery Installation

  1. Locate the battery compartment cover on the back of the chime unit.
  2. Gently slide the cover off.
  3. Insert the three AAA batteries, ensuring correct polarity (+/-) as indicated inside the compartment.
  4. Replace the battery compartment cover.

4.2 Pairing with XTU Doorbell

The XTU Wireless Chime must be paired with a compatible XTU video doorbell (J7, J9, J9 Plus, or J10) to function. This chime is not compatible with other doorbell brands.

  1. Ensure your XTU doorbell is powered on and in pairing mode (refer to your doorbell's manual for specific instructions).
  2. On the XTU Wireless Chime, press and hold the Settings Button (gear icon) for approximately 3 seconds until the indicator light begins to flash blue. This indicates the chime is in pairing mode.
  3. Press the doorbell button on your XTU video doorbell.
  4. The chime will sound, and the indicator light will stop flashing, indicating successful pairing.
  5. If pairing fails, repeat the steps. Ensure the chime is within range of the doorbell during pairing.

5. Operating the Chime

5.1 Adjusting Volume

The chime offers four adjustable volume levels (0-110dB).

  • Press the Volume Button (speaker icon) repeatedly to cycle through the four volume levels.
  • A chime sound will play at each level to demonstrate the current volume.

5.2 Changing Ringtone

You can select from four unique ringtones.

  • Press the Ringing Tone Button (music note icon) repeatedly to cycle through the available ringtones.
  • Each press will play the next ringtone for preview.

5.3 Wireless Range

The XTU Wireless Chime provides a reception range of up to 656 feet (200 meters) in open areas. This range may vary depending on environmental factors such as walls, obstacles, and electromagnetic interference. For optimal performance, place the chime in a central location within your home.

6. Maintenance

6.1 Cleaning

To clean the chime, use a soft, dry cloth. Do not use liquid cleaners or abrasive materials, as these may damage the unit.

6.2 Battery Replacement

When the chime's performance degrades or the indicator light signals low battery (if applicable), replace the three AAA batteries following the instructions in Section 4.1. Always use new, high-quality AAA batteries.

7. Troubleshooting

Chime sounds intermittently.
  • Low battery.
  • Interference or weak signal.
  • Replace batteries (Section 6.2).
  • Relocate the chime to a position with fewer obstructions or sources of interference.
Cannot change ringtone or volume.
  • Buttons are not responding.
  • Ensure batteries are fresh.
  • Try resetting the chime by removing and reinserting batteries.
