Step 2: Adjusting Height and Width

The reel features 7 adjustable height settings (3.8-5.6ft) and is adaptable for pool widths from 4-16ft. Adjust the height to ensure the reel is level and positioned correctly over your pool. For width adjustment, connect the modular aluminum tubes (Tube A and Tube B) as needed, ensuring a minimum 16-inch overlap for stability. Use screws #14 or #15 for secure connections; #15 screws provide greater strength.

Step 3: Attaching the Cover Straps

Thread the straps through the clips and attach them to your pool cover. For rectangular pools, clip top rail brackets at both ends from the cover edge. For irregular pools, clip brackets at the center through a double layer of the cover. Ensure all clips are uniformly adjusted for even tension.

Step 4: Ensuring Stability

The reel includes 4 sandbag anchors (8x16 in.) for enhanced stability. Fill the sandbags and place them on the base of the reel to secure it, especially in windy conditions. No drilling is required for this setup.

Step 5: Optional Caster Installation

If your model includes swivel casters, install them on the base for easier relocation. Ensure the positive-lock mechanism is engaged when the reel is in its desired stationary position.

Operating Instructions

To deploy or retract your pool cover, simply use the crank handle on the main reel unit. The smooth operation allows for effortless rolling of the cover on and off the pool. Ensure the reel is stable and properly positioned before operating.

Maintenance

  • Cleaning: Regularly wipe down the aluminum tubes and other components with a damp cloth to remove dirt and debris. Avoid abrasive cleaners.
  • Inspection: Periodically check all connections, screws, and straps for tightness and wear. Tighten any loose fasteners.
  • Storage: During off-season or extended periods of non-use, it is recommended to clean the reel thoroughly and store it in a dry, protected area to prolong its lifespan.
  • Corrosion Prevention: The aluminum components are corrosion-resistant, but regular cleaning helps maintain their condition, especially after exposure to chlorinated water.

Troubleshooting

  • Reel is unstable: Ensure sandbags are filled and properly placed on the base. Verify all assembly bolts are tightened. If using casters, ensure they are locked.
  • Cover not rolling smoothly: Check if straps are evenly tensioned and not tangled. Ensure the reel tubes are clean and free of obstructions.
  • Difficulty adjusting height/width: Loosen adjustment knobs or screws before attempting to adjust. Ensure tubes slide freely.
