2. Safety Information
- Do not operate the radio in explosive atmospheres (e.g., flammable gases, dust particles, metallic powders).
- Do not expose the radio to direct sunlight for extended periods or place it near heating appliances.
- Avoid using the radio in areas with strong electromagnetic interference.
- Keep the radio dry. Do not immerse it in water or expose it to heavy rain. This device is not water resistant.
- Use only BAOFENG approved batteries and chargers.
- Do not attempt to disassemble or modify the radio. Repairs should only be performed by authorized service personnel.

4. Product Overview
The BAOFENG UV-32 is a high-power, multi-functional two-way radio designed for reliable communication. It features a 2.0-inch TFT large screen, GPS positioning, NOAA weather alerts, and USB-C charging.

5. Setup
5.1. Battery Installation
- Align the battery pack with the grooves on the back of the radio.
- Slide the battery pack upwards until it clicks into place.
- To remove, press the battery release latch and slide the battery downwards.
5.2. Antenna Attachment
Screw the high gain antenna clockwise into the connector on the top of the radio until it is firmly seated. Do not overtighten.
5.3. Charging the Battery
The UV-32 features a Type-C USB charging port for convenience.
- Connect the Type-C USB cable to the charging port on the radio.
- Connect the other end of the cable to a compatible USB power source (e.g., wall adapter, power bank, laptop, car charger).
- The charging indicator light will show red during charging and turn green when fully charged.

6. Operating Instructions
6.1. Power On/Off and Volume Control
- Power On: Rotate the Power/Volume knob (04 in Figure 4.1) clockwise until a click is heard. The display will light up.
- Power Off: Rotate the Power/Volume knob counter-clockwise until a click is heard.
- Volume Adjustment: Rotate the Power/Volume knob clockwise to increase volume and counter-clockwise to decrease volume.
6.2. Channel Selection
The UV-32 supports up to 1000 channels. Use the Encoder/Channel Selector Switch (02 in Figure 4.1) or the Numeric Keypad (09 in Figure 4.1) to select channels.
- Encoder: Rotate the encoder to scroll through available channels.
- Numeric Keypad: Directly enter the channel number.
6.3. Transmitting and Receiving
- Receiving: When a signal is received, the TX/RX Status Indication (03 in Figure 4.1) will light up, and audio will be heard from the speaker.
- Transmitting: Press and hold the PTT (Push-To-Talk) Key (06 in Figure 4.1) to transmit. Speak clearly into the built-in microphone (10 in Figure 4.1). Release the PTT key to receive.
6.4. Multi-Band Operation
The radio supports a wide range of frequencies for both receiving (RX) and transmitting (TX).

The UV-32 supports the following frequency ranges: FM: 76-108MHz (RX), AM: 108-136MHz (RX), 136-174MHz (RX), 220-260MHz (RX), 350-390MHz (RX), 400-520MHz (RX), 144-148MHz (TX), and 420-450MHz (TX).
6.5. Tri-Power Settings
Adjust the transmission power (High, Mid, Low) to optimize range and battery life.

6.6. GPS Navigation

- Access the GPS function through the radio's menu.

6.7. NOAA Weather Alerts
Stay informed with real-time weather alerts.

The radio can receive 10 NOAA weather channels, providing timely alerts for extreme weather events such as sandstorms, heavy rain, blizzards, and rainstorms.
- Navigate to the NOAA weather channel section in the menu.
- The radio can monitor 10 NOAA weather channels for alerts.
- An alarm will sound if a weather alert is broadcast.
6.8. Wireless Frequency Programming & One-Key Scan
- Wireless Programming: Program channels instantly via a compatible smartphone application (refer to the BAOFENG website for app details). This eliminates the need for physical cables.
- One-Key Scan: Activate the scanning feature to automatically detect active channels and frequencies. This helps in finding clear communication channels quickly.
6.9. AM/FM Radio
The UV-32 includes an AM/FM radio for entertainment and information.
- Access the AM/FM radio function through the menu.
- Use the channel selector or numeric keypad to tune to desired stations.
6.10. VOX Function
VOX (Voice Operated Exchange) allows hands-free transmission. When enabled, the radio will transmit automatically when it detects your voice.
- Enable/disable VOX and adjust its sensitivity through the radio's menu settings.
6.11. DTMF Function
DTMF (Dual-Tone Multi-Frequency) signaling is used for various control functions, such as remote control of repeaters or selective calling.

7. Maintenance
- Cleaning: Use a soft, damp cloth to clean the radio's surface. Do not use harsh chemicals or abrasive cleaners.

- Antenna: Ensure the antenna is securely attached. Avoid bending or stressing the antenna.
- Storage: If storing the radio for an extended period, remove the battery.
