Step 1: Measure Your Opening
Measure the width of your doorway or stairway opening. The COMOMY Baby Gate is adjustable from 27.5 inches to 43 inches wide. Ensure the walls are on the same level.

Step 2: Install Latches on the Gate
Attach the four latches to the gate panels using the provided latch screws and hexagonal wrench. Do not fully tighten the screws at this stage, allowing for minor adjustments later.
Step 3: Position and Drill Holes
Attach the gate positioning paper to the wall, ensuring its bottom edge is close to the ground and perpendicular. Use a 6mm drill bit to drill holes at the marked locations. This gate is designed for wooden, concrete, or brick walls only. Do not install on drywall or plasterboard.

Step 4: Mount the Gate
Align the gate with the drilled holes. Install the top screws first, then rotate the gate towards the wall until it's in the desired position and install the remaining screws to secure it. For concrete/brick walls, insert wall anchors before screws.
Step 5: Adjust and Secure the Gate
Peel off the adhesive backing on the vertical rod and adjust the gate's position. Ensure there is a small gap (approximately 2mm or 0.079 inches) between the vertical rod and the gate valve lock. Adjust the door width to ensure the distance between the handle and the vertical rod is less than 1mm (approximately 0.039 inches). Finally, tighten all latch screws securely with the hexagonal wrench.
Operating Instructions
Opening the Gate (One-Handed Operation)
To open the gate, push back the first lock (Lock 1) and then lift the second lock (Lock 2) to release the gate. The gate can then be swung open.

Auto-Close Feature
The gate features an auto-close mechanism. If the gate is opened less than 90 degrees, it will automatically swing shut and lock. If opened to 90 degrees or more, it will remain open for convenient passage.

No Bottom Bar Design
This gate is designed without a bottom bar, eliminating tripping hazards, especially when installed at the top of stairs or in high-traffic doorways.

Maintenance
- Cleaning: Wipe the gate regularly with a damp cloth and mild soap. Avoid abrasive cleaners or harsh chemicals.
- Inspection: Periodically check all parts for wear, damage, or loose connections. Ensure the locking mechanism functions smoothly.
- Lubrication: If the hinges or locking mechanism become stiff, apply a small amount of silicone-based lubricant.
Troubleshooting
- Gate not closing properly: Check if the gate is level and if the wall mounts are securely fastened. Ensure the gap between the gate and the vertical rod is correct (less than 1mm).
- Gate difficult to open/close: Inspect the locking mechanism for any obstructions. Apply lubricant to hinges if necessary.
- Gate feels unstable: Re-check all screws and wall anchors for tightness. Ensure the gate is installed on a suitable wall material.
