1. Important Safety Information

3. Setup and Installation

Proper setup is crucial for the safe and efficient operation of your FOTING shallow well pump. Follow these steps carefully.

3.1 Unpacking and Inspection

  1. Carefully remove the pump and all accessories from the packaging.
  2. Inspect the pump for any signs of damage during shipping. Do not operate if damaged.

3.2 Placement

  • Position the pump on a firm, level surface near the water source.

For shallow wells, ponds, or tanks, ensure the suction hose is submerged and includes a foot valve to prevent backflow.
  2. Discharge Hose: Connect a discharge hose (minimum 1" diameter) to the pump's outlet port. Secure all connections to prevent leaks under pressure.

3.4 Priming the Pump

Before first use, or if the pump has run dry, it must be primed. This involves filling the pump casing with water.

  1. Locate the priming port (usually a cap on top of the pump casing).
  2. Remove the priming cap.
  3. Slowly fill the pump casing with clean water until it overflows from the priming port.
  4. Replace the priming cap securely.
  5. Ensure the suction hose is fully submerged in the water source.

4. Operating Instructions

Once the pump is properly set up and primed, you can begin operation.

  1. Power Connection: Plug the 6.6 ft power cable into a grounded 115V AC power outlet. Ensure the outlet is protected by a GFCI.
  2. Start the Pump: Flip the waterproof On/Off switch to the "On" position. The pump motor will start.
  3. Monitor Performance: Observe the water flow and the pressure gauge (if installed). The pump should begin transferring water within a short period.
  4. Shut Down: To stop the pump, flip the On/Off switch to the "Off" position.
  5. After Use: Always turn off the switch after use. If the pump will not be used for an extended period, drain it completely to prevent freezing or stagnation.

  • Do not run the pump dry. Running without water can cause severe damage to the motor and seals.

5. Maintenance
