1. Important Safety Information
Read and understand all safety warnings and instructions before operating this welding machine. Failure to follow these instructions may result in electric shock, fire, serious injury, or death.
- Electric Shock: Welding current can cause electric shock. Do not touch live electrical parts. Wear dry, insulating gloves and protective clothing. Ensure the machine is properly grounded.
- Fumes and Gases: Welding produces fumes and gases that can be hazardous to your health. Work in a well-ventilated area. Use an exhaust fan or fume extractor if necessary.
- Arc Rays: Arc rays can burn eyes and skin. Wear a welding helmet with appropriate shade filter and protective clothing.
- Fire and Explosion: Welding sparks and hot metal can cause fires. Keep flammable materials away from the welding area. Have a fire extinguisher readily available.
- Hot Parts: Welded parts and equipment can be hot. Allow them to cool before handling.

- Ensure the welding machine is switched OFF before connecting to power.
- Connect the power cord to a suitable power supply (220V or 110V as indicated on the machine). Ensure the power outlet is properly grounded and can handle the required amperage.
- The machine automatically detects the input voltage (220V/110V).
3.3 Welding Accessory Connections

Image: Front panel of the Surakey MIG200, showing the quick-connect terminals for welding cables.
- Ground Clamp: Connect the ground clamp cable to the appropriate terminal on the front panel. Secure the ground clamp to the workpiece or welding table, ensuring good electrical contact.
- MIG Torch: Connect the MIG torch to the designated connector on the front panel. Ensure the wire feed liner is correctly installed.
- MMA (Stick) Electrode Holder: For MMA welding, connect the electrode holder cable to the positive (+) terminal and the ground clamp to the negative (-) terminal.
- Lift TIG Torch (Optional): If using a Lift TIG torch (not included), connect it to the appropriate terminal as per the TIG welding setup.
- Gas Connection (for Gas Shielded MIG/TIG): Connect the gas hose from your shielding gas cylinder (e.g., Argon, CO2, or Argon/CO2 mix) to the gas inlet on the rear of the machine. Ensure all connections are secure and leak-free.
- Wire Spool Installation: Open the wire feed compartment. Install the appropriate welding wire spool (flux core or solid wire) onto the spindle. Thread the wire through the feed rollers and into the MIG torch liner. Adjust the wire feed roller tension.
4. Operating Instructions
4.1 Control Panel Overview
The front panel features a digital display, control knobs for parameter adjustment, and mode selection buttons.
4.2 Mode Selection
Press the mode selection button to cycle through the available welding processes: MIG (Gas/Gasless), MMA, and Lift TIG.
4.3 MIG Welding (Gas/Gasless Flux Core)
- Select the MIG mode.
- Synergic Control: Use the control knob to select the wire diameter and gas material (for gas-shielded MIG). The machine will automatically suggest optimal current and wire feed speed.
- Manual Adjustment: If desired, fine-tune the welding current and wire feed speed using the dedicated control knobs to match your specific welding requirements and experience.
- Ensure proper gas flow for gas-shielded MIG or use flux core wire for gasless operation.
- Begin welding, maintaining a consistent arc length and travel speed.
4.4 MMA (Stick) Welding
- Select the MMA mode.
- Connect the electrode holder to the positive (+) terminal and the ground clamp to the negative (-) terminal.
- Select the appropriate electrode type and diameter.
- Adjust the welding current according to the electrode manufacturer's recommendations.
- Strike the arc and maintain a steady hand for consistent welds.
4.5 Lift TIG Welding
- Select the Lift TIG mode.
- Connect a TIG torch (not included) and a suitable shielding gas (e.g., Argon).
- Adjust the welding current.
- Touch the tungsten electrode to the workpiece and then lift it slightly to initiate the arc. This prevents tungsten contamination.
- Maintain a short arc length and feed filler rod manually if required.
5. Maintenance
Regular maintenance ensures the longevity and safe operation of your welding machine.
- Cleaning: Regularly clean the machine's exterior with a dry cloth. Use compressed air to blow out dust and debris from the cooling vents. Ensure the machine is unplugged before cleaning.
- Cable Inspection: Periodically inspect all welding cables, ground clamps, and torch connections for wear, cuts, or loose connections. Replace damaged components immediately.
- Wire Feed System: Clean the wire feed rollers and guide tubes to prevent wire feeding issues. Check the condition of the MIG torch liner and replace if worn.
- Consumables: Regularly inspect and replace worn contact tips, nozzles, and diffusers on the MIG torch. For MMA, ensure electrodes are stored in dry conditions. For TIG, maintain sharp tungsten electrodes.
- Storage: Store the welding machine in a clean, dry environment, away from moisture and extreme temperatures.
6. Troubleshooting
This section addresses common issues you might encounter. For problems not listed here, contact customer support.
| Problem | Possible Cause | Solution |
|---|---|---|
| No power to the machine | Power switch off, circuit breaker tripped, loose power cord. | Turn on power switch, reset circuit breaker, check power cord connection. |
